  1. maybe they can offer such lower prices because of the massive amounts of merchandise the big box stores buy and sell?....I guess I wouldn't buy from Home Depot if I could get the same lower price from a small local store, but the only thing more important to me then someone making a dollar is me keeping a few of mine, so Home Depot it is.

  2. how'd it come out? I had a bad experience with that guy last year....real bad......but either way, congrat's to your son and good for you for getting it done for him, bet it brings you back to that day every time you guys look at it.

  3. I've had some lousy luck with Home Depot plumbing fixtures (faucets and toilets) and need to buy some new stuff for a half bath remodel at home.

I can buy at a plumbing wholesale place via my employer's discount.  I don't know for sure what the discount will be but it'll still (I'm thinking) be more expensive than Lowe's or Home Depot.  That doesn't bother me because I'm looking for quality stuff, without a hassle in the short term.

Do you believe (I do) a company would reduce the quality of their products for sale in these and similar big box stores?

    Thoughts/experiences with this issue?

they do, no doubt about it.......if you by a John Deere mower from Home Depot, it's not the same as one you would buy directly from John Deere.....pretty sure the same goes with many other products, that's the reason for the price difference.

  4. That was a great buy!! 2 wd is all you need , even in cars and trucks. I get a kick out of all the city hunters that come down and can't make it up the hill with their 40,000 4wd pickups, while I'm driving 80 miles back. And fourth to the city in a 20 year old rear wheel drive mustang...

yep, my 16 year old, front wheel drive mini van goes pretty good too...
