  1. I look at it this way, unless you're afraid of the jihad invasion and stock market end of days that is always supposed to happen but doesn't then society isn't so bad. There are many issues we can all agree or disagree on that are troublesome. I'm a pretty experienced diy and I love the woods and I'm more interested in sitting alone in a treestand than going to a club. All that said, we can't enjoy a lot of what we do without societies help. Just sitting here typing these words there are thousands of people working jobs making it all work. I love movies, I love good beer and wine, I like internet porn lol. I enjoy toothpaste and clean clothes. I'm sure with enough work I could make my own whiskey, but how many books can I bring? How good is my imagination? idk... I guess I'm happy with life, so I don't understand the desire to leave it all behind.

you wouldn't want to live in a one room shack with all your adult children??

  2. Hunting on new private land past few years I've only had success with spring gobblers on one particular spot (out of dozens of acres and what look to be prime habitat).  I've taken three nice birds in the past three years, but only while setting-up my ground blind in the same spot.

For the more experienced turkey hunters, if this is a "resident" flock,  do you feel that they have any memory of previous birds being taken in a particular spot in the past?  There are obviously factors (food, fresh water stream) that keep drawing the birds to this spot.  Would you believe that they are just driven by food and mating to this spot and that spring "madness" to mate may override any common sense?

    Thanks in advance

    Zoltan

I don't think they have common sense.....no different then killing deer from the same tree every year. I honestly don't believe animals can figure out what gunfire is, unless you add some other factor in to messing the area up it's forgotten......what do you think they do during lightening and thunder storms? pretty sure they haven't figured that one out either.

  3. Isn't that "toxic, as in poisonous'? I wouldn't want to harm the dog or make it sick. I just want them to (vividly) remember what happened the last time they chased me. I don't usually have a problem handling one dog, but my wife gets scared when she comes upon an aggressive dog. If I educate the dogs along a particular route, they're not likely to get aggressive when she is with me.

yeah, I would think wasp spray is very bad to spray into anythings eyes......

  4. Anybody ever the opportunity to try FRESH sardines ?

From what I have read they are excellent fried or grilled.. I  would love to try them.

I sure do like fried smelt.  I also canned up a bunch of smelt one time in spaghetti sauce, and they were very good.

I have, grilled...a little too "hang in your throat" boney for my liking, but pretty tasty otherwise. Fried Smelt where much better.

  5. I love sardines. Any brand, although I bough a cheap brand a few times,( can't remember the brand but the can had a blue label) They were way too big and boney. They looked like something they throw to the seals at marine world.

I like those canned Kipper snacks too.

reminds me of Bumble Bee Brand.

  6. I wasn't aware of that. I only know of the main page and by state. I only work off the main page.
