  1. I would think this is just common sense. It's the reason I was looking for one that worked in lowlight. I always range trees etc when I get to one of my spots to refresh the memory. Don't think I've ever actually ranged a deer that I shot.
  2. Leica, Its a little more then I wanted to spend but I guess I might have to. Anybody have the Vortex?
  3. Anyone have a rangefinder they like in lowlight conditions? I usually get to my spot 30 minutes before shooting time. So far its been pretty dark under the canopy, any way my rangefinder isn't working all that well at that time (if at all). It also has a black readout which makes it worse. Also anyone recommend one that might work in a light rain? My current one is a Nikon monarch gold laser 1200.
  4. Interesting you can hunt from tree while bowhunting at 12 but not as a 14-15 youth with a firearm. No trees or platform must be on ground.
  5. Same here, a couple days its at my house. However my sons, for whatever reason, takes forever. Got his lifetime on Sept 1, then it took over 3 weeks to get his DMP in the mail.
  6. I'm not telling anyone to shoot longer then they can. But you wanting to limit shots to 40 is like me wanting to limit you to 20. Why? half the distance, at least 1/2 the risk Right. Hell I say we go to 10 yards cut the risk even further. Just because you won't shoot past 40 doesn't mean no one shouldn't.
  7. And there's thousands who have missed at 20 yards Should we all be limited to less then 20 because of it?
  8. Its just amazing that people now bash others who have taken the time to become proficient with their bows
  9. I think one negative of OBR would be the economy. I know I take off from work to hunt, I also take off for skiing, golf and of course family vacations and obligations. If I was limited to one buck the chances of me going back up to hunt after I have shot a buck would be dramatically reduced. I would save more time for the other things I do. I live 3+ hours from where I hunt I buy most my stuff up there, luckily there is a decent store nearby that I support in hope it never closes. Cutting back on my hunting would effect these store, gas stations etc. I really doubt that I'm the only one that would do this but that is an assumption. oops! With the OBR I would most likely wait for a bigger buck if some have been seen or captured by camera, so it would be somewhat of a antler restriction. Like I stated early IF they wanted to change things I would be more agreeable maybe even be for a rule where the second buck would have meet certain point restrictions.
  10. Got my sons monday. Him and my nephew both postmarked the 28th.
  11. 22 would be a good hunting SEASON
  12. Don't like the one buck rule. Don't think a lot shoot two bucks so impact would be minimal. Although I do think it would make people more selective in the buck they shoot. Kind of a forced voluntary antler restriction. Would prefer to go to a system where the second buck would fall under some kind of antler restrictions.
  13. I never put my license or tags in with my back tag. Carry license and tags in pocket. As for back tag it's on the outer clothing. Has anyone ever had a problem with where the back tag was?
  14. Just called decals, "wait a few days after Sept 1 for your license" then call again if you don't have it. Doesn't the season start Sept 1 Maybe Sept 1 came sooner this years then others!
  15. Got mine last week. Waiting for my sons still
  16. influx of hunters from nearby antler restriction areas?
  17. Doc, if you don't know it all, which you don't, then there are assumptions. your assumption that they are screwing us, which is probably true, is still a assumption. And we won't have them here! It could well be for a good reason they want the harvest done in October. You don't know.
  18. Doc, I'll take back that yes and no, I can see that if you can't actually make the assumption there is no way to know if its right or wrong. But without any assumptions is then everyone one here just bitching for no reason?
  19. Doc, There is most definitely a yes or no answer to my question. And if assumptions can't be made you sure do complain a lot about stuff you don't know
  20. Ok so don't answer the question and play the hate card And by the way I said I don't like the plan and it won't work. But that's irrelevant to the question but go ahead babble away
  21. A simple yes or no my assumption doc, Am I wrong in assuming the dec wants to shoot more doe in archery season hence the reason for the antlerless only weeks? You seem to want to mix it up with all kinds of crap and not answer the question, but that's no surpirse
  22. Maybe making the last two weeks of archery antlerless only is the way to go. Seems to solve a lot of problems.
  23. Ok quick QUESTION, is that clear enough WNY This is what you said about the assumption that the DEC wanted to increase the antlerless deer take during archery season. In post #551 doc said it was my "imagining" In post #514 in a response to stubby WNY said it was "false pretenses" Now for Doc and WNY, Do you really believe my assumption that the DEC by implementing the two week antlerless archery period (however ill conceived and ridiculous it is) that this assumption that it was to increase the antlerless take during archery season is wrong?
  24. having a tough time with this WNY, I never said you said it, feel free to point that out now that you have said it twice. See the question mark ????? Its a question i asked "They need more doe killed" Do we agree you said this? They made a two week antlers only archery season. Do we agree on this? So i know i asked you the question again.
