I will be hunting deer for the first time and I have some questions. ( 1C Suffolk County) Lets say all the planets line up and I actually take a deer... 1-Do I gut it where I find it or drag it closer to my car to avoid getting dirt inside the carcass? 2-Do I have to bring it to Ridge to check it in? 3-Do I just bring it to the taxidermist for butchering and mounting or do I have to make an appointment? Thanks

I will only be using a bow. Does that mean I can only take 1 buck?

This is the first year that I will be deer hunting. I will be using a bow. I just picked up my new license, I have 1 regular season deer tag and 1 bow/mz season either sex tag. Does that mean I can take 2 bucks, 1 for each tag or 1 buck and 1 doe? (Not that I will be so lucky)

Squirrel season started Sept 1st. upstate. Down here on Long Island it starts Nov 1st. -

Afterwards we took a trip to Cabelas in Conn. We had a great day there too. So much to see and buy. -

Adding insult to injury when we got home there was a squirrel in the middle of the street in front of the neighbors house. :-( -
Spent 4 hours with my 8 y/o son in Cranberry Mt. without seeing a single squirrel. Heard some shots ring out so I hope somebody was having a better day than we had.

I don't think he would care what kind of fish he catches. I still remember the smile on his face when he caught his first one. (It was a sunny)

I was thinking of taking my 8 y/o son on a charter boat for the first time. Does anyone know if this is a good time of year to go? I want his first time to be memerable and not get skunked.
