I didnt see squat this weekend....hoping the bucks start chasing here!

Lol i went out today and didnt see anything. Had a bird fly into my chest ha! Thats my luck. Shes loosened up since the argument. It was simple i told her this is the first year that ive had such crummy luck, but the rut is picking up an things should come together!

I shouldve added...its not go hunt there by myself. Its go there and a family member will "guide" me. Then sit in the stand with me an tell me what i can shoot. I dont do that garbage. Ive been hunting for over ten years, 8 years of it bowhunting. I dont need a guide or someone to hold my hand....nor do i need someone to tell me what i can and cant shoot. Lets put it this way...basically im "hunting" because they are tagged out. All it really is, is a reason to be in the woods to scout for gun season. Already seen pics of a buck that i was told nope cant shoot it. Dont get me wrong i love the family, we just hunt differently. Im taking a break and regrouping.

Where does one check for them? Knock on wood i dont think ive ever had one on me....now that i say that probably will. Then again i tuck pants in and shirt in, then put coveralls on.

Haha! Probably not. I gave props to her family and mentioned that hunting is alot of luck. Ill get one it just wasnt today or yesterday.

It wasnt a suggestion unfortunately. Shes literally angry at me lol. Oh well im gonna enjoy my time in the woods. People dont like it too bad!

No luck here. Swirling winds kinda screwed me up. Didnt get busted just didnt see any. Could hear a few walking around in the dark. Broke out the rattle bag...figured why not. And again something hit my mock scrape. That might be my next stand to hunt near the scrape.

Its more or less she thinks if i hunt with her family im guaranteed a deer. Told her it doesnt happen like that. They have 100's of acres and trail cams and foodplots. Told her they have those deer patterned real good. Either way my head is held high. Just getting a touch frustrating is all. But i keep telling myself if hunting was easy everyone would do it. Tomorow morning im going to just enjoy being in the woods and get back to why i started hunting. Love the outdoors and every minute i spend in it is awesome.

After a pretty crappy first few weeks of getting busted and missing...i found myself pondering in the stand today. Basically how do i pick myself up after all that? Ive never had a season start off so rough before and im hoping its not a trend. Getting pressure from home as my gf's family had all filled tags. She suggested i should let them help me....as if i i needed a guide or someone to hold my hand. So how would you put yourself back on the saddle? Im confident in my equipment but just tough to clear my brain of all the crap so far lol

Id love to get back out but this wind is no good for any of my spots. Freshened up my mock scrap this morning so i may sit that spot tomorow morning. Good luck if your headed out!

Made a mock scrape thursday....checked it this morning and something big left some big hoofprint claw marks in it....and it stunk worse than my doe pee

Got in the stand well before light. 5 minutes after it was light enough to see, had one blowing behind me. Not downwind nor did i move a muscle for about the first hour. Who knows. On a bright note, something big left some big hoofprints in my mock scrape between thursday and today

5 minutes in the stand this morning and had one blowing behind me for a good 10 minutes. Odd it wasnt downwind nor did i move...saw nothing else but squirrels and birds. Awesome weather though!

47 here. Getting my facepaint on and some coffee. Rechecking my pack is filled with everything i need. If i see one this morning itll be a win!

Watching some strange movie on sy fy.....thats how bored i am! Our spot is literally 8 minutes from my house. Its a good spot and has already produced deer so im hoping it pans out again!
