sounds like a a pretty good day. are you on the bottom?
-
yesterday was a killer day in the park. i saw eight different bucks, three chases. passed on a few small ones. my buddy saw five different bucks and over 14 does. no mature bucks chasing yet just youngins but they are deffinately running hard. Passed on a pretty nice six point with one side of his rack palmatted like a moose

Very rarely do u see anyone during bow season. Gun is crowded the first weekend. East side is less crowded

I usually get my best opportunities mid day. I say till ten yesterday and saw nothing but a huge porcupine. I walked out and came back in at one. Spooked two doe and a shooter buck bedded right under my stand. Sat the rest of the night and saw a lone four point. I'm starting to see more scrapes in there. And I live in the town homes behind hooligans lol

Yes set your stand off the field in the woods. Much better option than on the field in my opinion. Most should agree..

Larry302 i see your thing says "where life is worth living" are you form webster? i live off five mile lol

Yep i am form monroe county lol. i was in on the east side this morning and saw a giant 130 inch eight point never came into range. two mintes later about a 100 inch eight point followed him on the same trail. We have four guys that stay in the cabins usually. there were hardley any hunters in there this morning i was kind of shocked. i also had a four point come right under my tree with giant forks he will be a huge six next year. They laid some gravel down on that off road on dygert so its much easier to get down there now which where i do my majority of bowhunting. check out a thread i posted a few months ago called "huge public land bucks" or something like that. theres an accumulation of trail cams pics form the park over two years!

A guy I hunt with shot a giant in the old safety zone. Not sure what it scored but had to be over 150. They are in there.

ill be in the C cabins the same week brother. Ive seen bears a few times in there, always have good bucks on trail cams just rarely see them. the buck in my avatar pic we got on cam on the west side near the perry entrance. have you taken any good ones out of there? my personal best is a 121 eight point (east side)

lol i was about to type a post about this earlier this morning. Curious as well.

Today Letchworth Opens to hunting for those who have permits. Where has everyone had success here in the past? Anyone getting a cabin the first week of November, if so, see you there!

Why would you sling arrows into the sky? That's how people die
-
youll be fine just me extra careful you dont slip. i love my climber (summit openshot). its all i use

I hit a doe earlier this year with a rage in just about the same area. She fell straight down and gargled like you said. After three minutes she got back up and ran for nearly 200yards before I recovered her. You'll find him. Blood trail will be nearly non existing try going to thick bedding cover or water. That's most likely where he'll be.. He's dead somewhere

Im a HUGE scent control skeptic. the farthest i go is washing my clothes with scent free detergent and spraying down before entering the woods. Some guys take it to an extreme level which in my opinion is overdueing it. For example...ive hunted the same stand the past three evenings. the first night i tromped around looking for sign (new area) sweating my behind off. I sat that night and saw eight deer. the next night (same tree) i shot at a doe at4:00. got down and tromped around looking for my arrow and blood for an hour, once again sweating like crazy. i sat the rest of the night and saw seven deer. Last night, i sat in the same tree and saw five deer. Scent control is important, but not as important as many think....just my opinion =)

look at the body on that thing.

last night in 8F i climbed down about an hour before dark ( i have no idea why?) as i got to the base of the tree, i unhooked my bow form the pull rope, looked up and three little yearlings were staring at me 10 yards away. They had no idea what i was and i watched them as they watched me for a good 5 minutes. i even had time to knock an arrow, draw back and set my pin on one ( just for practice). silly young deer.

Had a pretty good evening in 8f today. Hunting state land and saw seven including a decent buck out of range. I never expected to see as much sign let alone deer as I did on state land. Saw deer since three. Moving very early.

Big 130'nine point 45 yards away. Didn't feel comfortable with the shot. Still early! Down here at camp in Bolivar.
