Well I firgure I will try and confirm it's there myself I surely dont want to go off his word. I'm going to put a camera out this weekend and pull my other ones out see what I got. And I dont think we can just shoot them around these parts unless DEC gives me some sort of permit to do so. The hook to it is its on public land and the more I look these things up they seem pretty mean and aggressive. The mate like mice!!

Very cool man!! -
Well that would lead to my next question I have a few camera's out in the same area he hunts just none near the same place that he "heard it". If I do confirm that it is a wild boar should I call the DEC I never really called them for anything but not to sure if I should?? What would you do arrow nocker lol??
-
Arrow nocker he didn't but I will ask him tomorrow at work. This has made me want to put a camera in the area. Just curious to see if there would be a boar in that area. Im not not sure the sound that he personally heard but I will find out.

My opinion is... That was horrible ethics and poor judgement. Just a really bad look for the sport. I just looked at a 6 point buck about 100 yards away TODAY while I was shotgun hunting and knew I didn't have a great shot. I really wished I got the deer but seeing this makes me even more happy that I let him walk and didn't take a shot.

I over heard a guy I work with say that while he was hunting in region 6, he heard what he though to be a wild boar? I sometimes hunt region 6 and myself have never heard or seen anything close to a boar.I found it interesting myself to say the least. I might go and set up a trail camera in hopes of getting a picture. Has anyone heard of any wild boar running around in region 6. I have heard of one being in Utica. Just wondering if anyone thought there could be some relevance to the story?

I'm looking to get a new gps system in the price range of 100 about 300. Anyone hear of any sales or maybe own a gps that works really well. I hear garmin has a few really nice ones for a couple hundred bucks!!

Hoyt = Boss.. ( If you ask me ) My best suggestion is buy it after the new year. All of last years.. Or in that case would be this years bow on a close out sale. My dad bough his bow a few years ago in the summer time and got a great deal. Good luck on your purchase.

Not to sure if a 9mm is a good deer gun. I know I wouldn't be deer hunting with it!!

Owning land has to be great I haven't had the luck of owning YET but im young with high hopes and working hard everyday to fill them. I have taken all my deer from state land. Even my profile pic is on state land may not be the biggest deer but he's nice. My best tip for anyone is dont be a follower be a leader. If I see cars i'll keep driving if I see people i'll keep walking. Most of the people I have ever seen on state land stay very close to their car or truck and sort of just set up anywere. Not sure thats a good idea unless your dead lucky but.. I rather walk deep in the woods to find my funnels or food source's and set up off them. Good luck.

And I forgot to put ( Just something I found cool maybe you will to )... If you notice in the forth pic the buck was standing in the thick. With in 20 minutes he cleared the area of all sticks and broke some branches off the trees and walked up and scraped my camera off the tree. Yea that might sound nuts it might not but when I went to pick my camera up I knew that it looked cleared out a bit. Then I noticed my camera laying on the ground and there were rub marks right were I had my camera on the tree. I found this very cool myself. Don't know if a buck rubing the camera is something anyone has ever heard of or not? -

Nice 8pt he is on the top of my hit list. Little 4pt that I would ony take if it was with in the last few days of the season. Tons of doe. Due to work I haven't had much time to hunt but i'll be going out this afternoon in hopes of getting some meat for the freezer. -

That fox looks rough don't it?? -
12g for the tight hunting.. Rifle when hunting feilds or edges of land or what not.

The bucks that I have seen are for in rut. There scraping hard one of the bigger guys cleared a little area out right were I hunt. It was a pretty cool sight. And he chased a little 4 point out. And has been all over the doe on my camera! I'm no expert but i'd say the rut is on!! Good luck.
-
Very nice, Good luck.
-
Nice Paula, you hunting from a ground blind??
-
Needless to say there back. A few weeks later and with the rut kicking up I have high hopes on the last few weeks of northern hunting. Tons of doe a few smaller bucks and then this guy.. (My target)
