  1. I saw that too. Fortunately on a few other pics, it's a confirmed stick. Thought I was gonna have to go back there for a second, lol
  2. Sweet set! Might as well play another hand with luck like that!
  3. 3-10-13 We still got a ton of snow but a nice warm up today had me anxious to get out. I wasn't expecting to find much but I had to try. Well, I found one more homeless oldie that melted out by the end of the day. #16 is a nice plump 4pt! Rain in the forecast so things should start picking up some..... I hope! Also added 3 more dead shed bucks and 4 more dead antlerless to the talley since last update. Antlers- 16 Sets- 2 Dead bucks- 11 Dead doe/fawns- 11
  4. Sorry WNYB, cam and lens sold today.
  5. Understood.... Erie county family court is just as much fun. Hope things work out for ya.
  6. I don't understand..... if you have custody, you make the decisions and arrangements.(babysitter/daycare) How olds your girl? Would it make a difference if she stayed with gram and gramps? Does ex have visitation?
  7. I think it makes your head look big! Send it to me.
  8. Looking to upgrade cameras so I'll be letting my D-3000(10.2MP) go. This is a great beginners camera for anyone looking to take the plunge into digital photography. Camera is in good shape and has never failed me, but has signs of wear from every day use. Camera performs perfectly. Pics from this unit can be found in my signature link. Price is $200 for camera body, body cap, charger, battery, Nikon bag, USB cable, and instruction disks. I'll include 8GB card also. I'm pretty sure I also have original box and manual here somewhere as well. If interested, will include Sigma 70-300mm lens for additional $50. *** lens has imperfections and performance issues in macro mode but works well for general every day use. I know the tricks it takes to use this lens given it's flaws, so I will keep it for myself if there's no interest. Thanks for looking.
  9. That's why you need to save them old skulls for parts, lol I'm curious how the mummy will turn out. I'm guessing there will be some bone seperation given it's age..
  10. You have my attention!
  11. It was just a matter of time before you found some sweet freshness Sam! Congrats on scooping up a few dandies across state lines! Nice grab on the potential road horn... right time, right place for that one! They don't lay around for long without getting noticed! I better get going here.., gonna be a lot of horn hunters out there this weekend with the nice weather! Good luck hauling in a few more next hike! That poor ol' skull looks lonely up there, lol
  12. Great pics and clips Dave! Awesome aerial acrobatic show! Looks like the guys on the ground had a good time too!

    spring?

Found another ground dweller out to have a look around the tundra this morning.
  14. Ohhhhh, nice set! I like the long sweeping beams on that guy! Can I have them?
  15. Thanks again guys! I gathered some materials for a plaque on my last hike. Just an old weathered fence post and some rusty barbed wire. The wire doesn't go all the way around so it sits flush on the wall. Filled the brain cavity with some skull putty and screwed it from behind. That's it.... Simple is good I suppose. Now I'm done and satisfied
  16. I tried following once, but I couldn't keep up!

    spring?

Saw a woodchuck plowing through a foot of snow on my way into town this morning.
  18. I don't think the deer eat them either, probably just everything in between. I just know what I read about them, but I hear horsenettle is a concern in hay fields as well when the hay is bailed and used as feed for livestock. From what I've heard, cattle and horses wont eat the stuff either. I guess the spines on the leaves and stems is deterant enough for them. I never knew we had such a variety of poisonous stuff around here.... wish we had some snakes like this around!
  19. Horse nettle.... I never heard of it till I tried it,lol http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solanum_carolinense
  20. Don't mean to get too off topic, but don't get too carried away trying new things you're not absolutely sure of! This past archery season, I was watching deer come out to the "green fields" every night before dark to feed. I didn't know exactly what they were munching on so I went out to investigate a little further. I saw a field full of clover and other grasses as well as an abundance of another plant I wasn't farmiliar with. I assumed it was what was drawing them to the field to chow down on the little fruits that were growing everywhere. Naturally, I felt the need to taste test right there, and I took a few pics of the plant to identify once I got home. They tasted like little sour apples so I didn't swallow. Before I could look it up, I posted the pic on another site where I learned I probably shouldn't have been chewing on these, lol. Anyone recognize?
  21. I tried one from a local creek. Nothing to write home about, but it wasn't bad. Seemed a little sandier than what I get at the clam shack.

    My Canada Goose

You should include a habitat of astro turf, a golf tee, and droppings underneath him for added realism, lol! J/K- the mount looks great, and a nice change from antlers all the time............ did I just say that!
  23. I think they should have read...., "Keep calm and cARry on"! Still a good concept and show of support!
