  1. Happy-B-day WNYB! Have a good one!
  2. Beauties! Good luck this fall!
  3. One buck I have 3yrs of antlers from seems to traditionaly drop early. In 2010 I found his left side on Feb 19'th. In 2011 I scooped up his set on Jan 8'th. This year his 2012 set I found on Dec 12'th. No telling how long his '10 and '11 antlers could have been laying there before I got to them. The latest I've personaly seen a buck still packing both sides around here is March 17'th. Last year was March 15'th.
  4. Not looking too good for deer here this winter IMO. I've found 22 dead deer so far and haven't even made it to 3 other large properties yet due to the snow again. By no means am I blaming it all on winterkill, but a good majority I am. We've got over 2ft. the past 2 weeks. It wouldn't surprise me none if my total dead finds exceeds 40 this year once we finaly melt out again. This last blast since the thaw may have caught the local herd off guard dispersing them from their winter ranges into more of a spring pattern. It could be an ugly sight out there in the coming weeks before green up in my area if the weather doesn't break soon.
  5. Reminds me of these two I found a couple years ago, lol.
  6. New in package. Never opened. $60 shipped TYD
  7. Couple eaters from May 19'th last spring! I couldn't sink my teeth into one of these cute little furballs, lol.
  8. This means bad guys in Texas will also be marked by red dots.... just not on a map!
  9. You da man burmjohn! Good job- bet you can't wait till the next forum upgrade now!
  10. Maybe we need to mail out those supporting member dues ASAP! Seems odd none of those guys are having these issues,lol/ jk
  11. Still too cold for biking, but it's one of my favorit summer activities. We have a trail park 5 miles away that connects me to the closest town 11 miles away! In the summer, I'll do the 11 miles x's 2 at least 3x's a week on the mountain bike. This time of year, I'll hike in with my pack filled for the day but usually stick to the woods where I log most of my miles. Once the weather breaks and I get back on 2 wheels, I'll use the mountain bike trails as a shortcut to anywhere I need to go in town and beyond if the weather's nice. My longest bike trip last summer was 54 miles round trip and I covered that in 4 hrs. I don't set any land speed records, but I do keep plugging along at a steady pace. At the very least, my doctor is impressed every 6 months when I come in for my regular check ups and blood work. I'm probably more active now than I was in my 20's and apparently it's obvious every time I visit the dr.
  12. Cleared everything on my computer to no avail. I do see "likes" now show up on posts again. Also a change in attachments- now it doesn't even show the header "attached thumbnail"(just a big dead space). Still no pics. Avatars are still skinny slivers on forum main page, but show in posts.(same as it was) I don't think these changes have anything to do with something I did.... keep tweeking it! Maybe this is all just a sign for me to sign up on the South Carolina based hunting forums. I can take a hint, lol Smileys work fine!
  13. Sounds like a great hike Sam, unfortunately I can't see your attachments since the forum upgrade. I'll check them out when I can get on a different puter. I might have to stop over soon and give you a poke in your good eye if you start getting too far ahead, lol Carefull out there man, I know that's no fun. I think I've caught 3 sticks in the eye so far this season. The last one got me so hard it made me dizzy when I tried to open it.
  14. Nope, still got my list of problems. I see "attached thumbnails" but no pics.
  15. Same here and F5 didn't work for me neither. Also "likes" aren't displaying in posts. Also attachments aren't showing on my end. Other than that, I have no complaints now that I've botched up all my PC settings thinking it was on my end.
  16. Why don't ya come and help me! Finders keepers, lol
  17. I feel like I got a bullseye on my back between Sam and you now,lol I hope ya do catch me... there's plenty of antlers to go around! Just stay away from MINE!
  18. Thanks guys! 3-13-13 The plan for the day was to rise early and hike untill I ran outta light. Unfortunately, just before it was time to leave, I got a call to go snake a sewer..... ahhhh crap, lol! Well, I got back around noon and headed out where I had my 7 horn day. As soon as I arrived it started snowing and blowing like the North Pole. I thought about turning around and heading home but shortly after a quick 3 inches it finally stopped. I covered a lot of ground but only found one antler..., BUT it was a good one! Ladies and gentleman, meet antler #17! I tried like heck to match it up but no luck today. I'LL BE BACK! Antlers- 17 Sets-2 Dead bucks- 11 Dead doe/fawns- 11
  19. I enjoy the peace and quiet, and solo effort of "the hunt" durring bow season. I enjoy the high success rate and extended range of gun season. Guess I would have to choose a camera for the best of both worlds.... venison is way overated!
  20. Atta-boy Sam, you got a good pace going now! You should have no problem topping 30 this year. Nothing like some friendly competition to motivate each other to get after more! 90% of the woods here is still covered in snow so hopefully March will heat up soon. Good luck next hike!
  21. I'm too ugly to ruin a perfectly fine ATL like that, lol Just the horns for me. Nice find on the hanger. Only got one of those myself and it was a dry rotted oldie!
