  1. Hmmm, not sure. I used my pbase address codes so maybe I did somethin' wrong. They show up on my end. No biggie- I may have to upload to photobucket, sorry.
  2. Haven't posted any pics in a while. Just starting to run around with the camera again, but most critters seem to be in hibernation lately. Here's a few from the fall and a couple more recent ones. Spring can't get here fast enough. This first shot is of the lifeless wasteland I've been hiking lately,lol....
  3. Sure there wasn't some kinda mix up at the nursery.... that kids actually pretty cute, lol! j/k Congrats to you and the family! Enjoy!
  4. Oh man, what a pisser! Just goes to show you can't count your antlers before they're in the pile. I try not to advertise much anymore that I shed hunt to landowners that give me permission to hike... maybe a bit deceptive, but I've found my own way around that. Nothing worse than loosing a good property because you showed your horns to the wrong people. Big antlers, or antlers in good numbers, have a crazy way of motivating folks to get out there to see what they've been missing after you turn them onto these treasures in their own backyards. At least now you know the search is off for them giants and can move on to the rest of them.
  5. Not knowing is the hard part, maybe those sheds will show up for ya. Hope to see him again this spring with a new and improved crown!
  6. Very impressive Dave! Great work and pics! Can she catch a walleye or you gonna have to hire somebody to show her the ropes, lol
  7. Beautiful animal! Good job! What do ya got planned for the skin?
  8. Deffinately a nice one to see make it through the season! He looks a lot like your avatar buck! Same farm?
  9. That would make sence. I'll bet you're right. Even knowing that though, I'd still have to return it for repair or replacement. Good tip though for someone trying to trouble shoot one of these units!
  10. Time to put this topic to rest! I believe lionsandtigers may have seen one of these... they walk among us you know, and it does kinda have the face of a raccoon! http://youtu.be/LJ7zyNnEeyM
  11. Eddie, I returned a Blackout 60 to Primos a couple months ago because it was draining batteries overnight. They sent me a brand new replacement and the red IR filter wouldn't flip positions from daylight to dark. I ended up pulling the filter off, which in turn gets me quality night time IR pics, but heavily red tinted daylight pics. With the filter in place, I'd get good daylight pics and completely black shots at night. I'm sure they'll replace it AGAIN, but I'm holding off as long as there's still a few bucks left with antlers. I agree with what phade says about the black flash drawing ZERO attention to the cam. I've been running it in video mode for a while now, so you get to see their reaction, or lack there of in the blackouts case. They do take super nice, high quality pics and vids when they're opperating propperly, but I'm getting a little frustrated having my cam spend more time in the back of a Fed Ex truck than strapped to a tree. I know there's lemons with any cams, just kinda sucks having gotten two of them in a row from the same company... $99 is a good price though if ya get the chance to snatch that one up. They're pretty good about returns should it malfunction.
  12. Lol- those countries also have a life expectancy of 35, but I get your point!
  13. It's so cold here, the hookers want $20 just to blow on your hands!
  14. Looks like he could blink at any moment! He did a great job!
  15. My cameras don't call me when they see a deer and tell me how big he is,lol I have no problem exploiting patterns that trail cams reveal from one day to the next. I just don't like the idea of them calling hunters to tell them there are deer here NOW! Know what I mean?
  16. No offence phade, but that almost doesn't seem fair to me. If a camera is texting a hunter when the deer are moving in a certain area, maybe technology has gone too far as far as fair chase goes. Reminds me of some fly in hunts that prohibit hunting within 24hrs of the flight in. I feel these will promote this same unfair advantage of being ahead of the game.
  17. Yup, had the same thing happen. Few years ago I had put a bad hit on a spiker durring archery. Shot passed through him very high and too far back from my ground blind. I got this pic of him a week later clearly showing the point of impact high on his back. He appeared to be getting along just fine..... that is untill he showed up on opening day of gun season at the same scrape. I figured if he was worthy enough to poke an arrow into, I wasn't gonna pass an oppertunity to hammer him with the smokepole.
  18. I saw these on a recent episode of Amish Mafia. If this doesn't put the final nail in the coffin for us..., I don't know what will!
  19. Joe- don't forget to take the camera along on your winter hikes. This time of year, there's not a whole heck of a lot of folks in the woods, so you may get to see something out of the ordinary that few others ever get the chance to. The porky encounter sounds pretty cool, as that is something I've never experienced myself here in my neck of the woods. I try not to harrass the critters any more than I have to durring winter months. They've got it hard enough right now and don't need me or anyone else poking and prodding them with sticks to get a rise outta them. There's a lot to be learned just by observing the creatures doing what they naturaly do with no intervening. It's a great time to slow down and learn a thing or two out there while you're not carrying a weapon of any kind. Just saying, if your not out there hunting for food right now, take advantage of the oppertunity to hunt for knowledge about the woods and critters around you. When you pass that information along to someone else who may not know any better, it's a step in the right direction towards nature preservation and conservation education. Enjoy your hikes, and good luck with the antlers!
  20. I must have watched this 10x's and kept rewinding when it got to the "did you see it", and "how 'bout now" point. I thought there was something moving in the tree, lol If you didn't give it away at the end, I would have never guessed. Needs color for full affect! Would love to see a daytime pic of these two.
  21. Alright Sam! Good to see you on the board! That first horn probably has more miles logged since being off a bucks head than you put in today, lol! The hounds look eager to wrap their lips around some freshies! Looking forward to following along with your journal this season! Good luck next hike and congrats on these finds!
  22. Keep driving south to where the land meets the sky. Once you get to the end there's a big cliff that drops down into the valley. Make sure you got a good head of steam and keep driving straight. ....if you get lost, just call me and I'll re-route ya!
