QDMA and CWD
Terry replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
It bothers me too. However, we have a lot more going for us than Australia when it comes to gun rights. We have taken some hard blows, but there is a lot of fight left in us. -
I like that pic. It's a good representation of what you see when looking for deer while hunting.

I viewed it promptly, I see more paranoia then actual facts. Will owning a gun be more difficult, yes. But I have a hard time believing in total confiscation. And there is no talk of taking away are bows. -

Sharpshooters doing all the shooting for me??? Now what are you talking about? Deer have been free range since the beginning of their existence. People have hunted these deer using fair chase methods for as long. There isn't anything that threatens that. However, deer farms are relatively new, are 100% for profit, and have everything to gain if fair chase methods were to disappear. I am sorry, but I cant possibly see where it's reversed. -

I get a kick out of you always believing you have "schooled" someone. The only thing I have learned is that the high fence industry feels extremely threatened by conservation groups. -
Absolutely awesome pics!

You have provided opinions, not facts. I think that's pretty obvious to everyone but yourself. You also keep resorting to name calling, belittling others post, and illusions of actually proving your point. -

It seems to me that if CWD was prevalent in NY, people would see signs of it. There would be deer found suffering and brought to the DEC's attention. -

And what question is it your talking about, why the QDMA auctions off high fence hunts? Simple, to raise money to use for conservation purposes. They don't have a rich CEO that's going to benefit, just a lot of volunteers and a small group of employees that get paid to do a needed job that no one does for free. -

They were served? One's perception is their reality. Yours is very short sighted. -

FSW, are you really starting this again? And I get a kick out of how you constantly speak as if you have won an argument or handed someone their ass. Your the only one that thinks it. Stay in the pretend hunting business, you would make a horrible lawyer!!! -
I am 33 and have shot traditional archery and sidelock muzzleloaders. I have never hunted with either, but I recently bought a recurve and dream of eventually making the switch. In my mind there is something magical about killing a deer with traditional archery and it's at the top of my bucket list.

QDM Meeting with Neighbors

And I just Googled raising whitetails for meat, seems there are a lot of people selling farmed raised whitetails solely for their meat. Strange. -

Well, what are they sold for? -

And drug dealers and deer farmers aren't entirely different. Both ignore long time morals and ethics purely to benefit themselves. -

Then where do deer farms get their money? And where do restaurants who advertise farm raised venison get their venison? -

Your talking about a demand for venison meat bought by people who don't hunt. I am talking about hunters ethics. And again you are bringing the argument back to profit. And because there is a demand that makes it right? Drug dealers make a lot of money as well, I guess thats ok too. -

There have been many of your post that you talk about profit. That seems to be your driving motivation. The point I was making was that deer farms are mainly for profit and if anyone has something to gain by distorting the truth, it's the deer farmers. You have no ground to stand on when saying that QDMA and B&C are not non-profit organizations. I am sure in this day in age where everyone is under scrutiny, if they didn't meet the criteria they would have their non-profit status revoked. This is a forum for individuals who like to hunt. The vast majority if not 99% of us believe in fair chase. Deer farming does not fall under that category. Sorry if you believe it does, but you represent a very small minority. -

FSW, your post seem to keep coming back to your profit, yet you claim other non-profit conservation groups distort the truth because money is power. Have you ever heard that people who are quick to accuse others of lying are normally inveterate liars themselves. It's part of being human to assume that others think like oneself. -
This is another example of a change that brings massive paranoia, followed by a lot of whining, ending with things never being anywhere close to as negative as the naysayers said it would be.
