Nice buck. I love a good ground bow hunt. I have played with doe during windy days. You can get away with quite a bit of movements if you use the wind to your favor. Just move with the wind and keep your movement slow and methodical.

Congrats! I have hunted the plains, it's a huge accomplishment killing a buck like that there.

No problem. The hardest part is refilling the bottle. I bought a tiny little yellow funnel from the walmart camping section.

I use baking soda in an old squeeze lure bottle. Works great, it's cheap, and readily available.

This has my curiosity peaked. Climbing is the one thing I hate about using my safety vest. This could solve that.

I do all day sits any day I can. It's tough, but I just stick with it till dark. Kind of a mental game.

No problem. I just know it was extremely similar. That's why I originally bought a true talker.

Thats cool. Back in the 90's I had a very similar call made by what I believe to be a NY company. If I remember correctly it was called a "Posi deer grunt". Know anything about it?

What are you guys using? My true talker just crapped the bed and i need another. Obviously a realistic sound is important, but I also want something with really good volume.

I thought about that, but I am in the woods enough to catch at least a few before they get covered up. I made a couple tonight. Figured if they won't I will.

Because the spots I am hunting are not producing well. Instead of sitting there and waiting for the action, I am out looking around making sure their patterns haven't changed.

I found two scrapes on October 15th, since then they have not been refreshed. Other than that, I have not found a scrape on the 200+ acres we hunt. Not even one. Myself and two other guys have all combed the woods and all report the same thing. On top of that there are only a few rubs. This is in 8F. Anyone else have this problem?

Orange vest and hat. I have had too many deer look right at me without ever noticing I was there to not wear it. No reason not to.
