  1. You saw em in person. You don't need cams!
  2. Impressive still but that's one slow arrow with the marshmallow at the end thrown from a recurve. Now try it with a 415fps crossbow. On that note, I had a friend tell me he just bought such a crossbow and can kill deer at 80yds. I gently explained that that is the same as a 200fps arrow at 40yds. Ignoring accuracy, its still lots of time before the arrow gets there. "I know but it can be done." Oh boy - OK.
  3. I don't know, I had one deer catch my arrow with his hoof and throw it back at me.
  4. I decided not to shoot at a deer at 52yds. I am not telling anyone else how to hunt. Each should make their own decision. I just don't like the chance of wounding and hard tracking jobs without a deer at the end. Had that happen a couple of times and try to learn from that. But my post was not intended to tell others what they should or shouldn't do. Carry on brethren.
  5. Looks like consistent rain all day here, but can't wait for a day off tomorrow. Hoping to see someone meet their goal! Good fortunes to all out their chasing them today!
  6. Thanks Dan. Is what it is. It would take my arrow more than 1/2 second to reach the deer. Even I can move a long ways in 1/2 second and I am not speedy. Lol
  7. I was debating on the 7 anyways but seeing the 10 convinced me to wait without question. No regrets at all. That 10 has some mass (probably doesn’t score huge because not a lot of tine length maybe 7-8” G2s). I love bucks with mass. I don’t usually see the best bucks until later so I will take my chances. Not the end of the world if I don’t connect either. I realized last year after tagging out too early, the fun is in the chase.
  8. Thanks Dave. Cat and mouse. I may lose but will have fun trying.
  9. This was the 7. It’s not that I can’t shoot well to 50. It’s more that a deer can move quite a bit before an arrow arrives. And I don’t like taking the risk
  10. I hate shooting from a blind. But even in a stand 50 plus is more than I like. I prefer under 40 and 30 is even better! Lots of season. No need to rush it.
  11. absolutely insane night. Was tempted on a 7pt - tall tined and wide and then the fat 10 came in. Heavy mass rack and BIG BODIED. Decided against the 7 even though he came in range. 10 never got closer than 52. Piebald at 30 for a while but I decided to let her go with her fawns. Just didn’t have the heart. And she rules that plot pushing does and bucks around. Lots of fun without releasing an arrow. Hoping Friday is similar.
  12. Ever since clipping one with an arrow, not a huge fan of bow hunting from a blind. But it made sense today.
  13. One loan girl. Always exciting when she looks up like someone else is coming to the party.
  14. Lol. No idea. It’s high 50s here now. Not even sweating. Drop in temps and rain ending is only reason I jumped in for last 1.5hrs.
  15. I liked craftsman when sears was around because there was a no questions asked break and exchange it policy. Still the case? If there is one, will craftsman survive to stand behind it.
  16. Wow, I thought most groups were breaking up by now. And that many shooters is quite a group. You move to Iowa?
