Good luck with it Stoneam! I bought my ford at West Herr, and they were great, but I have a relative that works there so maybe I got the family treatment.

That's just mean TF - I was going to say a scuba convention with some of the most ethical, kind hearted individuals to walk the planet.

My Dream Rifle Shoots Like A Dream!

That off hand group is great in my opinion. Give me a lead sled on a solid bench and I can look good. Make me take off hand shots and you will know why I look for a tree to lean against for anything approaching 100yds or over. -

Steve I have not seen or read any complaints about the optilocks. Nor have I had any issues so I can't speak to what your uncle experienced. The dovetail has a slot in the rear where the optilock limiter pin stops the rear ring base from sliding forward on recoil. http://www.sako.fi/scope-mounts -

They are sako optilocks with the limiter pin. I never had a problem with losing zero. Did your uncle sung the bases up to the limiter pin? My 308 sako is set up the same without any issues. -
Happy Birthday Sir!

OK - while the 1000th reply has come and gone, the answer to this whole issue is now MOOT! See Larry's comment above. Saved by our wonderful State legislature! Lets renew this same discussion in 2018. And for those disappointed by it not being passed, you can still show your convictions by not shooting yearlings. Well that was an easy out. -

Oh boy, I better come up with a solution quick. Only 3 replies left to hit 1000. -

That will do! Enjoy Grampy! -
Thanks TC. Better than normal for me. What the heck is going with these golfers both blowing it on the 18th?

No sights. I look down arrow to target and put the target the right height in sight window. Honesty, aiming is not the hard part. I am sure I make more bad shots from poor execution vs poor aiming. Just like Sergio's last put. Weak!

And back inside pulling for Sergio. He deserves a major!

Finally good enough weather to shoot outside. Set up the old rinehart at 32 yds and my first five shots with the border tempest were money. Good group for me at that distance in Sept let alone first day outside. Bareshaft tells me the 20yd tune was good. I like bareshafts a hair right and low. No excuses now when I fling bad shots. It ain't the bow or tune. So nice to be shooting outside. Best part, at 3lbs lighter than my black widow, these 638g arrows only drop about 5" from 20yds to 30yds vs 10" with the widow. A little room for error. That's compound like but from a 48lb recurve. I am super impressed with this bow.

I am really shocked how he pulls it off. Hard enough trying to hit a 2" bullseye that is stationary at 20yds while taking time to aim. That guy has been shooting bows for a long long time. -
That looks like a big bear GMan. Congrats.

You know what Stubby, I apologize for coming down hard on you. Yes I strongly disagree that the posted buck would be a 1year old anywhere in NY, but you are entitled to your opinion. There was no need for me to get defensive about it. As much as I try not too, I still have moments where I get annoyed and let people know. My apologies.

You already established you take photos by those you posted trying to prove a point unsuccefully. Including photos of capped deer ready to mount. Now it's disrespecting deer and you don't take photos. Which is it Stubby? Get is straight. Lol. Sorry stubby. Your credibility is long gone in my eyes. And i I am done pointing out your inconsistencies. Have a pleasant day.

Wetlands on private property. What can you do?
moog5050 replied to Core's topic in General Chit Chat
The property I own is 60% designated wetland. You do need to file for a permit with DEC to do things as simple as put pallets in on a trail. That said, the hunting is great and land was cheap for the area. Lots of bedding and deer activity. No building of a structure in that area unless approved which made no difference to me as I live 30min away and just use it for hunting. Low taxes too. Pros and cons. All depends on your intended use. I have never heard a complaint about cutting trees, but my cutting is limited to trail and stand work. More deer trails and beds that you can imagine. Plenty of good bucks there too.
