  1. Good call. Partially correct. Border tempest riser and border Hex 7.5h limbs. Wonderful shooter.
  2. I only have 2 recurves. This and my black widow. But I did have 4 for a while. I own a compound but never shoot it. Lol Just not as fun the single strings.
  3. OK, who dropped the ball on this one .... Happy BDay, BELATEDLY!
  4. Doesn't look too traditional but man does it shoot nice! After testing a few different ILF kits, this was the keeper. Others were sold to happy new owners. Who knows what it is? Steve B you are precluded from answering since you made the strings for all of them.
  5. I am holding off to be the 1000th reply before offering my opinion. Won't be long now!
  6. Yep Webster. A few days late apparently lol
  7. So we went to Stoneyard and no more camel burgers. We had a goat burger, which was fine, but didn't really fill the exotic niche like camel. Oh well.
  8. Looks like fun but that's a long ride! I think I may try to go to Denton Hill this year. Its closer and more geared towards traditional shooters and I was invited. We'll see.
  9. Now that's a target I should not miss!
  10. I think its quite a bit easier to repeatedly shoot at 20 than deal with lots of distance changes, but it sure sounds fun. 45 yards would likely be a complete miss with my recurve. I rarely shoot beyond 35 and the arrow drops fast after 30. I don't know of any 3d stuff near Rochester. Maybe one day I can make the trip and shoot with you guys. It would be cool.
  11. Thanks again guys! New games to play with the bow.
  12. Guessing they move it up so as to avoid shooting out the bottom of target on bad shots. Center mass to allow for misses.
  13. The funny thing is that the bull is higher than I would aim for a perfect kill shot. Definitely higher than the pocket behind front leg. Not sure if all the targets are like that.
  14. I colored the bulls in because I can't discern it all from 20yds. I am sure varying distances and guessing the bull location makes it much harder.
  15. Stick bow. The compound is collecting dust now. I like the seated shots but I am lazy.
  16. Thanks Smokein. It's just another way for me to compete against myself. Lol i suppose I could try random distances between from 15-30yds and see how I do. All good hunting practice.
  17. 81 first round and 79 second round I think then. but I just shot this one: definitely the winner! 4 bull and 6 first ring for a 88 on your scoring. Thanks Stone. Gives me another way besides 20yd NFAA to judge progress. so how many targets does one shoot at in a 3D round and is it more than one shot per target? I realize distance varies
  18. I have never shot competitively so I am not sure how the scoring works. Tonight I shot 2 rounds of 10 arrows from 20yds at my rinehart hog. The first round I had 2 arrows in the bullseye, 7 inside of the first ring (looks to be about 4") and one outside of the ring by a couple of inches. Second round I had 4 in the bullseye, 3 in the first ring and 3 outside of the ring. From a hunting perspective I was happy with the first round but not so much with the second. But does round 2 actually score better due to the extra bullseyes? I realize you probably don't shoot 10 arrows at any target, but if you did, which round scores better? Thx
  19. The bow sight seems so much more intuitive than a gun scope. Can't, or perhaps won't, tell you how many times early on I wasted bullets going the wrong direction with a gun scope.
  20. TF - my red dot is the same as a scope. With a gun, you move the bullet poi to the cross hairs (not really but that's how I think of it). POI rt means you move left and POI high means you move down. With a bow, you move the pin to the arrow poi. POI rt means you move pin rt and high means you move pin up. I think that answers your question.
  21. More wit on this site than I previously recognized!
  22. I keep all of mine stored in my hope chest, along with my elk, moose and caribou racks.
  23. Congrats! Impressive gobbler and that looks like a big hog.
