    I've been using VPA terminators but I will be using Magnus Stinger 2 blades this year. I want to try them out on a deer or two before I try and stick one in an elk next year.

    I wouldn't use anything that early. Just find out where the deer are and then set up close enough to kill one.

    Not true for northern zone. We only get two weekends and we now have rifle hunting youths the first weekend and muzzleloaders the second. But I guess wanting to bow hunt without sharing the woods with gun hunters makes me precious and elitist.

    I shoot all year also, but I'm shooting a recurve so I have too to stay consistent. I know people too who are just now getting their bows out and getting them ready. I suppose everyone has their own level of dedication.

    Actually the game animals in this country belong to the public trust which means they belong to all of us. The individual states just have the responsibility for managing them. And some states clearly do a better job then others.

    I wasn't aware it was illegal to have a kid sit in a ground blind with you. Can you send me that section of the law?

    So how about those of us in the NZ. It has always started October 1st. So those of us that only get to hunt on weekends will have to contend with Rifles the first weekend and Muzzleloaders the second and then roll right in to rifle season. My 6 year old will be hunting with me this year. I don't need to wait until she is 12. Besides, she is pretty kick ass with her pink longbow, so she will be bowhunting then anyway. Give us the same length bow season as the SZ and I wouldn't mind either.

    The problem is that the number of gun only hunters far out number those of us that bow hunt. So the comments are always going to be biased in favor of the gun only hunters because they could care less about the bow season.

    The truth is that Obama has been great for gun sales. So the NRA will continue with their fear campaign that Obama is going to take all your guns because it will continue to lead to more gun sales. I'm a long time NRA member, but they are clearly playing a game here and it has been working great for the firearms industry.

    Who was it that repealed the gun ban on National Park Service (NPS) land and Wildlife Refuges? And who was it that supported the assault weapons ban when they were a Governor?

    I keep mine in a plastic tote. I used to just use a plastic garbage bag but it wasn't very organized. The tote seems to work better.

    I'm all for a youth season, but it should be during the regular firearm season. As a northern zone bowhunter, we now have no weekends to bow hunt without gun hunters in the woods at the same time.

    Fred Eichler is pretty good. The other two shows I really like are Meat Eater and On Your Own Adventures. OYOA is all public land hunts. They are both western hunting, but I enjoy watching them. I can't stand the rest of the hunting shows, they are a joke.
