  1. Well the wife and I went up to the property today to go shoot the guns and walk around to get some pics of the property and from what I see there was a fresh snow fall from the past day or so. Some cars still had snow on them. I didn't expect snow but it was nice to see howmany deer tracks there were on the property, they were literally everywhere and a ton of tracks! I did see quite a few yote tracks and some rabbit tracks also. Here are some pics from today. Top of driveway looking at road. Tracks all over driveway Field

    My 8 point

    Looks great! Love that rack
  3. thats pretty much what im trying to say, thank you. our force seems to be extremely strong but on paper we can be an even more amazing force if every gun owner put in the extra time and effort. so many gun owners DO NOT put any energy into keep their right but rather complain when its compromised...
  4. my point was more about those that are with us so to speak, BUT NOT at the same time because they do none of the above BUT still want to complain. that was more the mark i was trying to convey.
  5. i trust the NRA completely and im sure they are working hard to put forth some positive motion. i think their bigger plans really is Obamas gun agendas not NY state 100%. im sure they have people working on appealing the NYS bill but Obamas gun agendas would affect the entire country.
  6. some of my apple trees have budding going on right now, very funny. my fig tree used to do that this time of year when it was in the garage. going to be putting in another order at AARONS this weekend. i want a few peach trees and some taller crab apples (5-6')
  7. and now this has nothing to do with anyone on here but im sure some may fall into it. Since this bill passed i have spoke with alot of gun owners and they ALL have ALOT to say about this subject as very well they should. However, what i find to be extremely strange is the very guys i speak to are 1) NOT part of the NRA 2) Did NOT even vote 3) Have not written any letters to state senators, made any phone calls or signed any petitions In my eyes thats a huge problem... If people feel so inclined to express their feelings about what they believe they should be entitled to as a right but do not and have not done anything to aid in that benefit to help protect the very right they have so much to say. the other thing i have heard in conversations is "well if they want to tax my guns i am fine with that" or "they are going to do what ever they want so why bother" Just seems like their are alot of guys taking this laying down and dont want to even put effort into protecting what they believe in. im not saying lets go crazy and get mad and angry about what we are facing but you would think so many guys who believe in their 2nd amendment and say they have the right to own a gun responsibly would come together and face this situation the best we can. Just MHO...
  8. well thats as clear as it gets, thanks for the post
  9. i am so confused on the AR part, are they totally illegal now? or is it just SOME feature that would make them iilegal? if they are illegal, what do people do if they have one? they have to get rid of them?
  10. so background checks for ammo wont start for 1 year? how will that work any how? go in to buy ammo get a background check then come back in for the ammo?
  11. im not seeing anything that says it applies to hand guns? correct me if i am wrong
  12. honestly, im speechless... this is a scary direction this world is heading and unfortunately we all have front row seats.
  13. this is getting scary... feels like the calm before the storm too
  14. they havnt had it in years... its usually end of January i think. I go to the show in Rockland, the coliseum has had less and less vendors over the years so they havnt had one in 2 years...
  15. Just curious, but do you honestly think they read all these letters?? not trying to be rude in any way. I am actually curious if letters like this get read and considered??
  16. I do have permission to hunt within 500' if I wanted to hunt my field. Once in the woods I'm more then 500' away from a dwelling so it would not be an issue. Also, I have permission to hunt my neighbors property but I politely declined the offer...
  17. I know how to work the save screen function, the problem is you have to save as a file. Where the real problem comes in is I can browse for the file to attach but when I click the file I want the computer freezes and won't do anything. I can't attach a file. I think I'm gunna wipe my comp clean and start fresh one of these days...
  18. ok these i took a pic of my computer screen using my cell just to give an idea of layout and also where you can see the pond in the back and how it creates a natural funnel. you can also see the woodline on the road frontage that creates seclusion from the road..
  19. very true Split, Its always wise to do your own evaluation... And yes the deer i got on trail cam did have very big bodies from what i noticed. I was all pumped to put my cam up there and when i did it was -2° and my cam was operating funky, it took runaways for one day until the batt died. i was excited to check the cam and when i drove up just to do so i was bumbed to see i had pics from 1 day lol. The deer sign is there and will speak for itself, i cant list i have 20 apple trees and when you show up there are none so anything i listed is by all means TRUE. i will not make false statements to try and sell something, i dont operate that way...
  20. PM Sent Tommy go to the top of your screen and you should see a small open letter symbol.
  21. oh boy... lol the solution they give you to drink is disgusting, drink as much as you can as quickly as you can and be prepared to be on the bowl all night. that stuff is disgusting lol
  22. no offense taken at all... when i bought, i bought with the intentions of putting my cash into something tangible rather then putting my money in a bank account. i had intentions of hunting during deer season but with the "convenience" of driving 20 minutes to my hunting spot on LI i just could not get the chance to hunt up there. I never once said i have "all these deer" on my land. i have been hunting deer since i was 14 and i have spent countless hours in the deer woods to know how to read deer sign, so one does not need a trail cam running 24/7 to get an idea of the deer flow on a property. if i wanted to see exactly what was running around on a property then a trail cam would be essential but since i only have 2 cams they stay with me on the island during deer season. I did run a cam in Januray on my property and got a ton a photos of deer but that was for a month. This spring and summer alone i had taken about 12-14 trips to my property to do some various maintenance and get away trips so i know what i see when i walk the property and what i kick up. i never once said all the deer in Otsego county end up on my property, i simply said the lay of my land and the bordering property creates a natural funnel which in order for deer to get to one area to another they must travel around the neighbors pond onto the back end of my property where the creek is to get by. the deer can simply go on the other side of the pond to travel as well for all i know. what i do know is the amount of tracks, deer runs, droppings and various deer sign thought the property is confirmation that deer tend to pass through my 12 quite often. and if you think you can drive anywhere in NY tag out and come home when ever you want seems like a pretty silly statement to me. i dont care how good of a property you hunt your never guaranteed a deer... Not sure that anything i stated in any of this thread sounds fishy to anyone else?? i never lied and theres nothing to be fishy about. i bought land and i never hunted it, is that a problem? if i had ZERO hunting spots and bought land you bet your butt id hunt it but i have more spots to hunt then most so its not a life or death situation for me to drive 4 hours to hunt my own land. Sorry you think thats fishy BUT its true...
