  1. Our neighbor is probably in her mid 70's, living alone. I've taken care of her driveway and mowed her lawn for years. I can't stand seeing her out there shoveling or mowing. She gives me a twenty for gas once in a while. Just a thought; maybe the guy in the OP had a blower that broke... been there
  2. Good point CulverCreek, that's why I bought the cheek extender pad for my Mossy 500 'cause I sat a 2x7 Leupold on top. I also put the Knoxx stock on it and I can now instantly adjust the stock length based on what clothing I have on. Love it. But it seems like everywhere I look anymore - that's how people are shouldering weapons. I just really don't understand. I understand the light recoil thing but I wouldn't even try and shoot a .22 like that. Has to affect accuracy.
  3. I hear ya but it's not just this one. I see a LOT of people shouldering like that. I guess no one is teaching proper technique any more? Now, I understand carrying at the ready position etc, but firing like this just makes me shake my head. Actually, more like cringe but....
  4. I see a LOT of people who shoulder both shotguns and rifles like this guy. What am I missing? There's no way I'd shoulder a firearm like this.
  5. Wow, good info BAAQ! I didn't realize that.

  7. I'm being "kidnapped" for my 60th birthday and taken somewhere warm. That's what I know. I did the same to her when she turned 50 and I kidnapped her to Jamica. I'm sure it's somewhere south 'cause I was advised to pack my snorkel gear. ;-) So 12/24 VERY early, will be on big silver bird in sky... from 12/24 - 01/04 this will probably be a fairly good representation of me:
  8. what do they care - two of 'em have been immortalized as a Chi-pet line.
  9. When I was young, my Dad had a HUGE male Weimaraner. I don't know how much he weighed but he was BIG and solid muscle. His collar was a Haynes strap (think: calf collar). He was out back chained with a new bullchain one day when my sisters were home alone. We were outside and a friend of ours drove in the driveway. Now, this dog knew this girl since he was a puppy. Before Carolyn could open the car door to get out, Laddy had snapped that bullchain and was standing in front of her car door "suggesting" that she stay in the car. My older sister pet him and said "it's ok Lad" and his tail started wagging and he just sat down. Eventually she got out and he was all friendly. He was one hellofa ringneck dog as well. I could tell you stories you wouldn't believe about that dog.
  10. I tried watching it a couple of times because of all of the hoo-haha about it. One of the stupidest things I've seen. Never did/do understand it's popularity.
  11. Over the years I've had German Shorthairs, Weimaraners, and a Husky.
  12. Nope, any picture that has blood, holes, tongue, etc bothers me. It shows that the person has zero respect for the animal that they've killed and even less respect for anyone who views the picture.
  13. Sounds like the typical garbage from teens who've been taught no better. While filling tags is certainly the end goal, it by no means is what it's all about.
  14. That's certainly true, and there's nothing we can do to stop or change that. I just think we do a disservice to ourselves and the sport by posting blood, holes, and tongues. No sense to giving them any more ammo (pun intended).
  15. Serious answer: I misunderstood your point apparently. The short answer to that question is: no. I do however think that pictures with gaping holes, blood, tongues hanging out and just total trash as in the OP, DO make anti's think less of hunters and give them all sorts of opportunity to use such photos for a "See that these brutal people do to these poor animals?" kind of campaign.
  16. While the picture may not offend many hunters as we've all had our arms buried in deer guts, you need to think about how it reflects on hunting to NON-hunters, women, children, etc. That's why my pictures will never contain holes, blood, tongues hanging out, etc. Just common sense and consideration of non-hunters views/feelings.
  17. You're right NYBH, I didn't even see that. The picture alone was enough to turn me off but the you're right - the caption is PFS. What jerks.
  18. Personally, I don't care for any picture that's sporting gaping holes and/or blood
