Should We Erase Objectionable History
growalot replied to Doc's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
This country was started as a place of freedoms..Yes slavery was not a freedom but, that said after having been allowed while a government constitution was being made allowing for freedom of speach, protection and the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. Paraphrasing these organized writings, the confederate men and woman did exactly what they were taught they could do. They actually honored the government that was written for them. They voted to succeed. They then challenged the government for infringing on rights they had originally been given. They were patriots if you think about it. -
her Gradmother and Great Grandmother were alumni there...I went to Aflred State BTW Rob-c Is the nursing still taking place in Wellsville? That's where it was centered when I was there for Recreational landscape. We had to go over the AU and do their landscaping and tree planting for our field work...

disc and forks and if you plan on ever digging holes for anything,trees,posts.. a post hole digger ps those are the less expensive...I have to say I love the backhoe...but don't use it as much as the other stuff.....Did when I was making woodland plots though...drainage ditches and stump removal.

Our daughter went to Alfred University...I never worried once..but the whole having to move all belongings out of the dorm each year and most of it during Christmas was a serious pain...find a good storage place near by if you can...They collect as much stuff as if they owned a house!...lol The grad school in PA was off campus living and she had one heck of an apartment...the bottom half of a old colonial This was a bit more scary.. she lived directly across from a Catholic church...but alone. Thank God the drive by shooting happened when she was home visiting, she found the broken window then the police retrieved the bullet from her porch ceiling...Nice!!! Really small PA town to...where that big flood happened that wiped out a valley town... You can't keep them safe at home any better then away...you just need to give them the tools to maneuver through the rough stuff. Now shes a colleges chief of staff in the presidents office. Our Son went to Monroe community while working in Rochester and they paid for it. Had an apartment in Avon...he owned his own home by 21, not far from us and is working his own business part time while working Construction full time. He flew the nest much quicker than his big sister and was way less costly...lol 3000+ square foot home with 2 garages on 5 acres with a pond and both residential and business electrical service ...cost what one year of AU cost us.

Jeremy I might have to consider that...stepped out of the shower and looked in the mirror ,it's red and puffy under my eye but noticed a pink rash over my brow around the outside corner where he got me. That wasn't there yesterday...I did clean the area after it hapoened with rubbing alcohol.. Belo...trees are changing here, golden rod is in blossom along with several other fall flowers such as asters...how nice for you it's 90 we've been lucky to hit low 80' on hot days...go find your self a life and stop stalking my posts...troll

So I'm on my morning hike and coming up out of the creek bed looking down...there are trails I can not clear ,so I was being careful about beech roots under the wet leaf cover on the steep incline... I get to the top and look up..mind you I've been talking to myself out loud, figuring out plans, there not more than 10ft to my rt and in front of me is a big ole wht (mostly) skunk. I froze and he looks up at me as if to say hello, then continues scuffing around in the leaf litter looking for acorns, beech and hickory nuts...HHmmm decision...I put my head down like I do with deer and kept on walking ...once I got 20 yrds away I turned and made a kissing noise...when he looked up I yelled thanks! he put his head back down and went about his business. note to self....hunt this area carefully.... See I'm not always unlucky..lol

LOL it typed in a subject of it's own just the other day! Yes it is getting better...just the swelling is still there a little under the eye...no where near sting during the day .In the mornings though..like today it was swollen shit again..sight is fine..and head ache is gone. LOL look how fast he jumped on that eddy...no wonder I feel like I'm being stalked...
-
So anyone ever hear of this.. I got stung Tuesday and here it is Friday and every morning I have woken up with my eye swollen. Bad enough this a.m. that I got the " poor old gal, nasty hornet!" from MrB. Now before you say it,if I went to the Dr.'s for every incident, they'd charge me waiting room rent. Really nothing he can do now anyways, but has anyone ever have a face sting act like this?

Been there Doc minus the rabis..just add 2 big ones circling wothin a few yards of you...For a moment i forgot I had my gun in my hands...I shook the action and they moved off long enough for me to run. Up n the stand the howling and yipping started. The two behind me I knew of and at least 3 on the other side of my gully stand. I'm not ashamed to say it scared me enough the tears flowed as I sat there waiting for daylight. No cell phone then but after I felt safe enough to get down the DEC was my first call.

Food plot help fast PLEASE
growalot replied to The Engineer's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Less exspensive would be the plot shot at Tractor supply...even the stuff I stored in my basement all winter grew great. I bought it after season for 8 dollars a 40 or 50 # bag...in season price I think is 29.00, but they always have 10% off coupons available. That and on line sales with free shipping to store pickup. -
Know your food besides the obvious...like oak and wild apples. Here they love wild elderberry brush, hickory, beech, hop horn, poison ivy and wild rose. Isolated swampy areas. Dogwood brush/berries. Those large ateas of golden rod are deer magnets..Doc is right about some areas and the far back approach. Remember our archery shooting restriction is now only 150 ft...That said you still HAVE TO HAVE RECOVERY PERMISSION on private land. MY best buck area is a tiny swamp 411ft wide between homes with a ton of activity. Some guys find near the parking areas to be the best. Scouting will tell you ..look for cams and foot traffic in the wet ground,it will save you time on where not to go...especially close to rut and weekends...areas of wild buck thorn...not great food for them unless little is around...but man great cover they will hang in...our camp 8X and surrounding lands are choked with it. Gullies and revines travel areas. I mention these things because I don't know what Ohio terrain is like for you...

That sentence was from the CWD post...why the kindle would save that this long is strange, but the fact it posted it on it's own is stranger...lol One of these days I'll get rid of it...but in the mean time I'll just keep ....cheap, cheap, cheaping away
-
Lol...I started this and after writing the title the kindle inserted that sentence from a different post I made weeks ago! I hit edit and started what I originally plan when I fell asleep. So tip hunt the hophorn and beech early bow huge from the rains and sweet ...Deer seek hop horn out .find trees with lower filled branches.

Did you guys get the new DEC announcement on proposed regulations?
-
yes sir...I got there just about then...It took that long to get the eye looking OK enough to go out..lol
-
LOL you were probably the one on the phone when I walked in and started my order...he hung up turned and and said that....

I have never met a person that didn't like him and comment on what a gentleman he is...Though..... I should have worked on the table etiquette and clothing style a lot more...But that's a MOM being Mom ...maybe...

Fawn. We have a lot of fawn this year but this one and another Mr B saw at the end of out drive are the biggest we've seen this time of year. His he actually came in and said that thing may turn out to be a monster of a buck in a few years...big and bulky body for a spotted fawn. The one in the pic I can't tell if it has buttons or not...but it's way stockier then the others and taller too.
