  1. Thanks dbH...lots of views but I'm never sure if the link was ever clicked on...yes he did an excellent job putting the entire video together...glad you enjoyed it...
  2. You need to have them penciling in the cut lines along a straight edge and marking the joist positions on the boards then helping them hold the drill as you apply the pressure on the screws to the decking...We loved getting those pics when the kids where little and we gutted and remodeled the house...Lots of pics of our daughter in her bibs with grout in hand our son spackling...They still recall those memories in their 30's....and to your question...no it never ends...lol
  3. you could take some lessons Belo, when you take time out of your life to belittle others for ABSOLUTELY no reason..... all you do is belittle your self...
  4. Today the horse shoe plot ,the oak flats plots and I believe the T trail plot behind the house all get disced up.Then I am done with the disc for the season I'll wash and grease it then Mr B can do as he wishes with the backhoe...Though Rivers other gramps was to do some welding repairs and that's not happening ......all the WG/fertilizer can be dragged in with the harrow drag teeth down.
  5. Very nice...labor of love right there and think of all the smiles you will be giving complete strangers for years to come. Who can drive by a big old barn and not smile...
  6. For many reasons one of his best....http://www.growingdeer.tv/#/deer-hunters-guide-to-aging-bucks-before-the-shot
  7. ??? BTW you don't need to be using sights and a peep to know bending at the waist needs to happen when shooting close ...I have taken 2 deer at 3yrds...one from 14ft up and one at 18ft up...both shooting instinctive... My practices start out on flat ground to just build muscle...but quickly go to the stand shooting...and it's only 3 arrows...shot from 3-30 yrds and I don't move the target until I'm dead on...try going up and down a ladder on a ladder stand after 3 shots until your perfect....teaches you to concentrate very quickly...BUT it also brings your heart rate and breathing up to the excitement level you feel when a big deer or even a nice doe appear..That is something guys don't think about...and it's the best way to replicate it..That control of breathing and your heart pounding make a big difference on a good kill or going home feeling like a cold turd
  8. Discing up the front field...I just planted a strip south /west to North /East in solid turnips where the tractor is... did a small area at the end of lane way clover to edge of the open field in solid turnips as well and then planted clover with some turnips in the tilled area in pic...I dragged that smooth before the rains... The pic of deer is a moss over run clover plot in the middle of the woods, it is the oak flats...I see whats eating the tiny dropped acorns from the fawn pic...that gets disced tomorrow. Then just 3 more to do...
  9. I have a pop up blind tower(short 51/2 ft tall) to cut and build...a stand or 2 to move, one to put together...a couple of plots to disc and parts of plots to seed...more tree cutting ...of course shooting ...going down now to start the strip plotting by laying down first run of solid turnips...then grains will go in...I also have a clover plot to plant that will get a rye over seeding in a week or two. In between every thing else...Garden is starting it's first round of freezing veggies and peaches have to be picked and processed...still doing berries
  10. What I haven't noticed...The big push on let them grow that was said to happen by the DEC...I they aren't doing this heavy in such papers where? They do seem to have a push on the bear this year though...big article on them...BTW where is the early bears season in the southern zone in Sept. 9th - the 24th
  11. Well if that's the case there should be some "moose/elk" looking buck around here this fall I know we had some rough weeks with biting bugs earlier...but the colder temps have cut them back this late summer...I have to think that helps...though...I avoid the darker areas thanks to skeeters...I can imagine with the racks being engorged with blood, blood sucking insects can have a large effect ..they really have no defense against them covering their velvet do they?
  12. OK they are called Chinguapin trees (Allegheny) similar leaf but they still lokk more like a regular chestnut hull but smaller with a small chestnut type seed in them
  13. Do you or can you hunt near your house? 3 miles could put you on his travels
  14. Yes you could rob..though when we had goats it was considered best to give them free choice bagged goat minerals inside thier barn...goat minerals were a bit different than the cattle blocks beef and dairy guys use. Mr B built me 6"x6"2ft gravity feeder for the corner of their barn wall...set high enough so they couldn't deficate in it...and yes they would and did everywhere...lol They didn't have those " Himalayan rocks", Natural Horse mineral rocks", andTrophy Rocks everywhere like now. BTW...That was your first mistake...Thinking a cop would have knowledge of conservation laws. We've seen here over the years conservation officers have problems with them....LOL
  15. Thought I was banned from site..earlier on our PC I could only type one word then got tossed. On Kindle now. Beech can produce on 2 ft saplings...but if your unsure still could be chipikins(sp?)
  16. You know it is illegal always in NY..With the new CWD regs. They are proposing, they intend on being stricter on such stuff..Ive heard of guys being trcked down from net pics...just something to think about
  17. Zooming,I believe, shows what he is " munching on. " ...apparently it works.....
  18. The zoom on the kindle certainly brings out the detail....
  19. This is one of those years where I had a bachelor group living on our place...one reason why I don't plant soybeans often any more...I don't think I got a buck that year..if I did it was a 6pt...I also had a difficult time getting a doe...But man the pics were Awesome...lol
  20. That's a pretty deep path any other animals using it...I get a bit surprised at how warn a wood chuck trail can get....How I know they are chuck paths is they lead to where they burrow under the field fencing...BTW...is that a dead hawk or owl in that pic? If you've seen good ones on cam you'll have them around eventually. Some just have a home property they stay on...might be a better food source right at this time that has them traveling different. Apples are getting an interest and black berry are in full swing right now...I know my red oaks are dropping tiny acorns and something is eating them...Farmers are cutting wheat ,opening up a lot of fast growing tender red clover...Hay fields are recovering from being cut and bailed...All new tender growth...Best of luck this season.
  21. I love not seeing bucks during the summer...Never in any years that I have had high summer buck sightings have I had good hunting...HERE the bachelor groups edge the doe out off the property...some will be around but not normal #'s Then come fall the (bucks) disperse to other properties looking for the doe They go to where the doe have spent the summer raising their fawn...an area they will hang in until late season. This year I have many fawn and a lot of doe a few yearling buck...So the bucks will disperse and hopefully we will have some of the beauties others have seen with in this 3 mile area decide to come in and check out the girls and pushing the yearlings out to other properties ...cover, water, and food should keep them interested in waiting out the first to come in season.
