I just use a cheap bic pen

done .....both kills reported with in the first 3hours after kill...the last report the recording told me how many tags I had outstanding and repeated back to me the number of tag I was using for verification...that was something new this year...and different from doe report I did the second Saturday... I don't know about any one else but tag is filled out in field and never attached until actually hung in tree....that way I know it's not getting lost

I shoot instinctive....I used sights for the first time last year....ended up having to call deer search on the biggest deer I've ever shot definitely biggest I've seen on our place...left all equipment in the stand and went straight to the house and called They came out and soon as they arrived the skies opened up....we kicked him up... then bedded him. They came back out the very next morning...never stopped raining and we tried again...I lost him....Handler and dog put their hearts into it Took their advise ...bought a newer faster bow...and I donated a $100.00 to them for training or what ever and to teach me a valuable lesson......I will NEVER use sights again...16yrs...if it ain't broke...don't fix it!!

Thanks guys...actually I called him in ...kicked up a buck laying under stand when I went in...he blew a few times and stopped ...so mid ladder I grunted at him....waited and then continued climb...when it started getting light I alternated between grunts and doe bleats....when he came in I knew he was big enough for me....but he came head on, right to the tree I shot 5 yrds away so the hit went in forward along spine...he faltered then took off a few moments later I heard the crash.;...at the shot I heard comotion behind me and running away was a bigger...8 or 10pt not sure...never heard him come in....The 8pt still managed a 150 yrd dash....the arrow broke off and 7in and the broad head made a merry tour through him...forward...no clue how but missed guts....then flipped backwards and nicked backside of intestines and then did a router job up through his thigh...only had that happen one other time years ago...hit high behind shoulder blade ...arrow snapped and the broad head was sticking out the back of his thigh on recovery....and that one never touched the guts So he field dress, according to scales, 160# and has a 14 in inside spread...and I'm tired!!!

I just watched a 4pt making a scrape and using the licking branch yesterday...I have doe on cam ....I think I posted visiting scrapes and I've seen doe urinate on their hocks over scrapes...so I believe all deer use them and all buck make them

upstateredneck...I planted this ...using a 40# push spreader.... and it is feed store FEED corn....I disced then seeded and fertalized and disced it all in...then ran a harrow drag over it

when I took my hide down to the "hide guy" .....why I'm passing the spikes 4/5/6pts...and different doe? The question actually surprised me a bit....So I told him the "boss "...yelled about my mature... fawn baring doe as too small....and said "don't bring home a "scruffer buck" Now this is his..... I suppose.... guys way of encouraging me to go for a big mature deer...but he's also use to me shooting really big doe. The guy said he thinks that the first early kill on a buck is the best meat before the rut...then told me he never shoots doe....That explained it ...they usually take just 2 deer a year for the 2 of them and think the meats better. That's been on my mind since....I think seeing I do all my own...it's just as hard to gut...skin...quarter...and cut a small deer as a big and I'm a meat hunter as well....but I've never noticed a difference in the taste of meat from a rutting buck as a non rutting....have you?

Now to put this to rest and to clarify A MISTAKE I MADE ....see how simple that is.....I took my info from the DEC web sight...seeing they don't just hand out books any more and there were none where I got my first doe tags...LT are mailed with out them...explanation done... Mr B had gotten one and we took it out of the truck last night...there is in the BOOK a NY MAP as Culvertcreek mentioned...then I remembered due to his mentioning...and WNYBH was well in legal hunting hours according to the 16 minutes he would have added to the on line chart time...so a heads up...for ANYONE going by the online chart and are west of Albany you need to get the map to figure times or get your weather sunrise/set s for the town your hunting in.... So to put that to rest...YES I MADE A MISTAKE due to the DEC WEB SITE as you saw in the link I used....NOT HAVING COMPLETE INFO...I Apologize for THAT mix up

WNYBH...It really wasn't about you in the first place nor just Culvertcreek...He was the one that made it about you...you just happened to be the the only example at the time...did you see me saying ANYTHING about it at the time? jk or other wise...yes I posted....... as I said....... the chart due to a previous post as a reminder..... it was Culvert and now you that put it as a personal attack to you....When the point was how negative a group with in the site seem to be with others out side said group ....then you get the tag alongs....
