Just had him drop down from the other side of the ravine behind me, he picked up speed when I grunted. Hopefully he'll loop around and come up this side. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk -

My father in law wanted to fix up that old white trailer, I accidentally put my hand through its window and ended up in ER a couple of thanksgivings ago. Would have been nice to get it done preseason but such is life. He loves it in there , can cover field and sit by the woodstove. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk -

Normally a gun stand, but after seeing him work the edge at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm yesterday, figured it was worth the sit.Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk -

Let's see how this works out. Had a huge buck here yesterday, maybe I can piss him off. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk -
Shawnhu's recommendation of an air rifle is probably a solid start. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I say yes do it. If he's excited about it, feed that fire. Eye and ear protection. Try and instill hunting, not just killing. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I also need to wear a belt in the AM. Biggest goof was jumping my doe too soon. Got her though. Bleeding like a fire hose the whole way, she just kept on truckin. Easy to find. Hard to get back to truck from the deep , low lying stuff. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Had a nice buck circle behind me earlier. Just spent 15 mins playing peekaboo with a momma doe before she gave me a 33yd broadside opportunity. Now we wait. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk -

Was unaware that we weren't talking about hunting in NY, I see you covered that in your opening sentence.

Only thought I had was with your buddy agreeing to the DMP swap , I'd have shot her and awaited his arrival.

Australia's Full Gun Ban
irish_redneck replied to Elmo's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Now let's imagine that one of the hostages had a gun. The gun man enters the cafe pulls out a gun and is put down by a concealed carry cafe patron. End of story. -
Filled a tag today for a three legged doe who may have been hit by a car. One old rear bad leg held on by skin. Other rear leg freshly broken and bleeding , front shoulders "all Loosey goosey" as grow would say. Had to take her obviously, but on finding her ailments and weird crunchy belly decided to leave her in the field. No point getting tag replaced, still have more left.

Wife made this tonight, was amazing. Cooked ground venison up in bacon fat with onions and carrots, added broth, peas, corn, red wine. Cooked, covered in mashed potatoes and baked. Yum.

I contemplated driving my sled around to pack down the snow for some deer past stand redirection.
