Wow RED, I'd say its time to look for another property... If you hunt hard there is definitely something going on. You should be seeing more then that.

Recently its been brought to my attention that my immediate neighbor will be selling his 21 acres. I currently have 24 and am really interested. Things that prevent me from jumping on it, not sure exactly what he wants. Also, I have 6 and 2 year old at home and we all know money is tight these days. However, what an opportunity. My Brother and I want more property this would give us 45/46 acres. Taxes would be way too high but that's NYS. Just so much to think about. I guess it's part of life, just one of those tough decisions to make.

Congrats on your deer! It's really easy for us to answer, you do what makes you happy! This was my first year "really" passing Deer. I passed a 6pt and spike during archery. I then blew 2 opportunities at mature 8's. I did take a nice doe Oct. 12th. I don't enjoy gun season and have only been out opening morning. Now looking back it would have been nice to take the 6 point with the bow. However, you can't look at this way. Not every year will be "your" year. Congrats on your buck!!!

No reason too panic.................not just yet. The best week is here on us. The next 10 days should be golden. For those of you familiar and believe Charlie Alsheimer he predicted 3 days after the rutting moon. Rutting moon fell on the 6th so that would mean the week to ten days starting the 9th. I have a feeling any day or so movement will pick up quite a bit. I checked all my game cameras and the only buck was a small 6 at 8 am. The rest are moving at night. Btw, where I hunt the doe have been tough to come by. It will change soon. Keep at it.

Girlfriend taking it in and out, come on......

Yep. Although I love being in the woods I also have 2 young ones and work 50 hours a week. The magic button would save hours of arguments. This is just a fact of life when you hunt hard and have priorities.

I don't even know if this is serious post. Most ridiculous idea I have heard of on this site yet. Be safe and do it ALL by yourself!

Well, it's official, my vacation has started and I am ready for some all day sits! I'm headed to camp for 10 days! I just finished an 18 qt pot of venison chili, I used 6 lbs from doe I harvested on 10/12. Come on big boys... BTW, this Chili is off the charts! Some Cracker Barrel extra sharp cheddar, Tostitos and sour cream to top it off!

Great to Hear! Good Luck, let us know how it goes.

OK, 16 feet plus you standing another 4-5 ft. 21 ft or so, I will guess she jumped string you hit high, let's hope its enough angle to clip the other lung or some substantial tissue.

did you shoot from treestand? If so, what is the height?

Hey Trailer, sounds pretty good to me. You say lots of blood that's excellent. Did you push her? How long after initial impact did you go see if you could find her and then proceed on the blood trail?

Grow, you should started a forum with that last sentence... LMAO!!! I'm 33 been hunting 17 years and have always wondered the same thing. Some scent control! It somehow puts a bad name to hunters. I recently witnessed a guy come in from morning hunt to a local T. Hortons, drink and eat breakfast, all while sporting the GHILLIE SUIT... He looked ridiculous. It just bothers me, take the sport serious, conduct yourself with a little class.

AWESOME JOB!!! Really cool your Dad too!

Too many if you ask my wife. My thoughts are you can't have enough. I like Hunting, Hockey, Golf and working on my house. I love my kids very much too but I don't consider them a hobby - Lol!

Red, same boat you are. My vacation differs, I take most of my time off during bow. Either way, where is hockey? I have little ones, dance and hockey too.

This is somewhat easy of an answer. Get in the woods any chance you can, especially because these are the best weeks. However, I have to agree with Steve 100% way better having no wind. It is such an advantage to hear them come before you actually lay eyes on them.

All good vacations in my book. However, I feel the heart of the chasing phase will be around the 9th. I adjusted my vacation few days ago. I'm off 4th-16th. I seriously think anytime after the 5th is GO time!

I'm not an expert and never claimed to be an expert. I know many hunters that don't use it, won't use it, they're just smart experienced hunters, they get nice deer consistently. I say gimmick because its Advertised as if all you do is hang Ozonics and you are good to go. No no no, you still have to do everything possible regardless if you use it or not. It's more important to be scent free as possible, play the wind, setup stands in smart areas. That's all I'm saying.

Beautiful Buck! Should pass him up so he can pass his genes on. LMAO!!!
