It was done on purpose. Hung high for the neighbors to enjoy in the subdivision. Temperatures were in the high 40’s by 7:30am And again, it was dead at the shot. “Destroyed the heart”. 17 hours-give or take with the entrails in. It’s a hard pass for me.

Lol, you packed them out with the guts in them? Or left them hang for days with the guts in? I think you have to flip back a couple pages here…..

It was less than 40 last night at some point but it sure climbed fast. LOL Silly me, I was concerned about the increasing temperatures last night and even bought a 8lb bag of ice in the afternoon yesterday and set it on top of the hindquarters when I got home to help cool things off. (warm air rises, cold air falls) Overnight most of the ice melted (it was 38 when I turned in around 10:30) and at noon today it was close to 50. If I shot a deer last night at 5:00 pm last night and quartered it at say what, 10am (it was 49 degrees in Rochester at 10am) this morning, that's 17 hours (check my math Bizzy) later. That deer would go in the dumpster down the street.

LOL yea me too. I put a ton of miles on the truck the past 2.5 months and probably stressed marriage. Again lol. She's a good woman and I'm BACK!!! 9 months from now we crank it up again.......
