I have to add, gutted pics are fine if it's all you have. Although I always try and get them pictured ungutted, occasionally gutted has to do. It's just that if you want a better quality picture, the sooner the better for the picture. We've all seen the old time pics of deer stretched out on the back trunk lid of dad's '72 Buick Electra Deuce & A Quarter, meat pole pics (like my steaming video from the other day or just the head and cape. Heck, don’t sweat it at all! I personally, after gutting and getting it back to a hose would rinse it out and let it drip dry. Process as usual!!! PS: Where are the PICTURES?????

Maybe you mentioned it previously, what machines did you buy? I recall you mentioning atv’s for the boys I think. If you don’t want to divulge it, no problem. Just curious.

See, that's where I have to steer you right again. (easy, easy...just joking) Pictures of ungutted animals in hero shots are where its at, IMO. Easily done with a friend to help or a self timer on your phone or camera of course. Even if you aren't in the picture, pre-dressed pics are great. Sorry things got ugly yesterday, here's to better times!

LOL......yup Tommy, one time. Not on purpose, just a combination of things; darkness looming, a 200# deer alone below level ground and a some excitement as it was a good buck. And as usual, I came out and made light of it. I didn't have too but that's not how I am, I'm not to proud to admit a mistake. But you just enjoy bringing it up, is it some kind of insecurity you have?

I'm reluctant to post this but will, lol. I took this video approx. 90 minutes after killing her and she had been gutted for 70 minutes prior to this. I sent it to some friends just to show the heat that comes out of a deer in an interesting way. Yea, this was New Years Eve.......

I expected the additional 30 min before and 30 min after to be a great help in one spot I hunt but it didn't pan out. I believe like others have said, based on the warmer temperatures and lack of snow that the deer weren't forced to get out and feed as much. They just weren't burning the energy that would force them out to re-fuel. This spot I hunted was so frustrating in the past (in the colder years) when at sunset you had to pack it in. That's exactly when they'd spill out into the field. I did find in one of my spots in the pines, it's so dark on a cloudy night I'm lucky to make it to sunset! Did anybody benefit from the law change in a notable way this year?
