  1. I think more than half the hunters have always hunted 30 minutes before and after. Of course I have no data to prove this but we all know how ridiculous that law was and how safe and clear many “illegal” times were. Plus we’ve all heard the shots during gun haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Let’s say this guy isn’t a troll. Did he fuck up? Yes. Was it a bad decision? Yes. Have we all been there? Probably not, but some have for sure. I think the moral of the story here is that what’s done is done. It doesn’t make it ok. But nothing good will come from ridicule or if he doesn’t learn from it. Also, best not to post mistakes that are also legal violations Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. No he shot the second before he looked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Figure out a way to save the meat. Lesson learned I hope Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Same but I’d like a youth and new hunter exception. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Around me at least 80% of hunters shoot 3 rounds at something [emoji1787] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I can’t even imagine how painful that must have been Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. A lot windier than I’d like but I put in my time, we went and cut down a tree and got it up. Cams have had more bucks moving the last few days Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. To clarify, my post was about helping the herd. That doesn’t necessarily mean trophy management, but just having deer to shoot at. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Sure, but how many from a sxs? Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I’ll take all my girls with a big ass please and thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Haven’t had a cam pop a pic since late last night, but I’m out for the first sit since Saturday morning. Its cool sunny and calm. I’m happy and I needed this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. If we throw out the very real concern of shooting a buck who has shed his antlers or the potential for early season buck poaching then I think it’s about hunter enjoyment and success. NY has programs like let them grow and state they are about hunter satisfaction but those directly conflict with opportunities in the woods when take goes up. Look at some of the guys here not even seeing doe. One could intelligently argue that a shortened season would lead to more guys in the woods at once, which we all know moves deer. Sort of like a fury rut vs a trickle rut that is NY’s gun season. 10 days of deer pushing intense action with piles still harvested and then less overall stress on those that survive. Guys can spend time with families, snowmobile, duck and small game hunt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. What a simple minded response. This is a forum to discuss, not one where we just accept all the laws NY throws at us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Possibly the best marinade and run I’ve ever had on chops Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. disagree. The season is already too long. The added time this year isn't going to make a dent. Hardly anyone went out in September and it will be a small amount of people over Christmas. The deer numbers aren't a problem because of a short season, NY already has one of the longest gun seasons in the country, but the problem is in fact access. If they really wanted to make a dent they'd open up county/town urban bowhunter programs. They had this down south and it was tremendously successful for the hunters and the land owners. There was little to no incidents. But this is NY and the cat lady won't let it happen and the pu$$y a55 law makers will bow to them. So instead the same farm land that is pounded from 10/1-12/20 will just get pounded a little longer. Anybody who has hunted it for nearly 3 months isn't going to just start shooting more deer because the season is longer. You cannot change my mind on this.
  17. none of that matters if you shot a giant piebald non-typical as giant is relative, so a giant is still a giant.
  18. my prediction is Wednesday next week, but only if hunter pressure is mild this weekend. They'll have recovered from the invasion and possibly start to see some smaller bucks eager for the second rut and doe out feeding.
  19. I get it. There are days, this afternoon will be one of them where my goal is to kill a deer but I'm mostly just trying to get out of the house. We need to find you some new land though.
  20. I'd rather put a bag on an ugly girls head, than have no girl at all
  21. It’s my favorite cut and 90% of my loins are removed the day of kill and marinated over night for the next days dinner. Medium rare. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
