  2. I missed the pic and now I'm ready curious... they got more likes than you. Was it something that you would see while hunting? Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  3. 42 shots today by 11:40. Only heard 8 the last 2hrs this evening. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  4. Thank you. I didn't expect it to be blank tho. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  5. I was wondering the same thing. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  6. Hit the woods at 6:10 and hit the grunt tube lightly as I walked to the stand. Saw two on the way in, that weren't ready spooked that bad. 5 shots between 6:50-7:05 and I've heard a total of only 34 so far. No sightings since sun rise.. no rain too. 9P Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  7. I'll be there. Right in the same area. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  8. Many congratulations to you! As many have said, the first is the sweetest and will always be the most memorable trophy of all. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  9. Super stoked with this one. I had an encounter with him earlier in the season at 45yds, but he knew the area wasn't good and slipped back the way he came from. He knew again this time, but didn't clear out. He was about to walk through my lane at 8yds, but spooked and ran to my left. He stopped at 35yds, turned brood side and looked back at me. I wasn't sure if he would stay long enough for me to get a shot off, but I was blessed. A lot of first came with this hunt. 12pt, 210 dressed.
  10. I've seen a mix of things going on this season so far. I've seen young and mature bucks with their noses straight down with doe's in front of them, tails straight up and happy to see them. I've seen that about 5 times over the last two weeks, but mostly I'm seeing solitary doe's.. in the woods and spotting the fields at night. I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time to drop one off at the taxidermist tonight. He came out with a doe to hit the cut corn in the evening. Just light grunting as he walked with her, nothing aggressive. Talking with the taxidermist, he said the big wave hasn't hit yet. He has many years of experience and is always the best reliable source for knowing when "it's on". He's saying next week. Bad thing with that (and good), is a lot of mature ones are going to be chasing hard opening week of southern zone gun. Stay in the woods y'all, never know when they are gonna pay a visit. 11. All depends on the spot and environment. On a ridge line, I like to sit low (1'-8') so I look through the trees down hill. In the hardwoods, as high (12'-25') as it takes to get coverage and still have shooting lanes. In a shallow gully, as high as I can, trying to see out both sides. 12. 8A Family friend; Shot a buck Thursday. He had hot doe urine out and the buck was running circles around his stand for several minutes. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  13. 9P The neighbor seen 7 different bucks running around this morning, all with their noses on the ground. One he even convinced to lay down. [emoji16] Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  14. 9P. I'm seeing scrapes used daily now. Also have seen two different does with their tails raised high, twitching in the fields, in the late evenings. Both of them had bucks, that don't normally hang in the fields, with their noses right up in their... you know what. There seems to be some scattered does hitting it a little early. 15. Very, very quiet out here, with large flakes dropping down in 9P. I've never been out here with it being this quiet. Not even a slight breeze. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  16. Sitting out here now. I saw a lot of them in the fields last night. You could see them real easily with the snow. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  17. Day two.. zilch. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  18. I really hope this evening, is more eventful than.. all day yesterday and this morning. It's like somebody turned off the deer switch Wednesday, in these woods. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  19. I hunt the area too. They've been laying down low, during the day light hours.. but I know that there are deer out here. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  20. Most definitely, get out there and get one. I too, wish I did sooner (only about 10 years tho [emoji13]), it such a different vibe. This should have brought in the quote about getting a bow, and not waiting for gun season. PS; deer coming out by the dozens into the fields at night the last few days. 21. I just had a 4pt walk in front of me and a 6pt walk behind me, both heading east. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  22. It just flew over RT70. They fly around here quite regularly. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  23. Wind is definitely picking up, but a big [emoji809] for no rain. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  24. Light drizzle and breeze with a real feel if 28℉ here. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  25. It is Dez, I've gotten a few over the years in this area of the property out my climber. I opted on moving my double out of the orchard and I built (building) a tree shed to replace it in the orchard. The double was purchased so I have a spot to sit with my kids and we tend to have more sightings in the hardwoods. I'm about yards into them with bedding in front and to the left. I'm in an old hickory three, hence the new name of the stand "The Hickory Stick". Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
