  1. Don't know if I could camp with a busy schedule. I'd put in a hunt followed by a camp fire. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  2. This and the cow pie. Nice work again. Could be filling a niche market. Don't see much like it. Do a handful and sell them at a flee market or outdoor event. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  3. when i fit a mouth call, how consistent i can hold the leading note of a yelp by making an "SSSS" sound tells me if it's good to go or not. that'll give you more control when you switch to "nu-nu", "clucks", "purs", and soft tree calling in real close.
  4. i always thought Bass Pro wasn't up to snuff.... until i walked into the one down in Altanta GA. holy crap are the ones up here pitiful. if they flooded the boat department (whole different wing/bldg) they could test out new bass boats i feel like. place was insane. Online sales really deals a blow to sales at a retail outlet though. I order almost all my stuff online now. then again we don't have crap here in the capitol region for sporting goods chain stores.... Dick's/Field & Stream is all we really have. Gander Moutain an hour or so south in Kingston. that might be one that's staying.
  5. with a mouth call fit is everything. don't feel timid about trimming the tapes on them. she very well might need to. back first then sides if you must. tiny amounts at a time or you'll over do it. most people don't care to hear your learning curve so practice in the truck/car on the way to somewhere when you're alone. use a call that's said to be "easy to blow" that doesn't take a lot of air to make noise. I still really like the Team Primos Will Primos Signature call if i ever find it in a store. steer clear of the real raspy calls with multiple cuts when starting out. any of theirs with the sonic dome doesn't work for me despite it's supposed to help. They're great with instructional stuff. Mastering the Art series Primos DVD's are good. i've got DVD's somewhere collecting dust from years ago. my effort to pursue turkey hunting endeavors have wanedin recent years. just a busy time of year for me. anyway, here's a link to their YouTube channel and a couple other links. i've heard some crappy sounding real turkeys. unless you're squeeking and stuff you're not really screwing it up. nothing gets Tom's fired up just over the knoll like using a mouth call and friction call practically at the same time to sound like twice the lovin' that awaits. hard part is keep consistently two different cadences and pitches. i'm not a guru at all just what i've figured out so to speak. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPrkWzx--zCDqamRx-KU4W17EaRt5AsL1 http://www.nwtf.org/hunt/wild-turkey-basics/turkey-sounds http://www.springthundertv.com/article_category/calling-techniques/
  6. Ton of rain all week but today is blue open skies and the sun is shining. Seeds should be turning into spouts and things should be growing good. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  7. senators are on break this week in terms of being in session. i should know this week if it's scheduled on the floor calendar for the first part of June. If not more meetings and making noise. Will let people here know regardless.
  8. sorry i can't really process much after read "month or so".
  9. fair enough. you don't need to install zip lines then. swinging between tree tops will be allowed. just don't drop your spear.
  10. i've figured out it's good to have options. i've got tons of stand locations pre-prepped for a climber on the farm. it's a sick setup because i don't have to worry about people that hunt the same property burning out any of my stand locations. i've come to realize, especially with the idea of hunting with a plan or scouting info, my best sits are some of the first sits for a spot. longer i sit somewhere seems like the more wary the deer becomes even if i don't get busted.
  11. you need a network of zip lines between stands in case a buck takes a wrong trail that won't lead to it's immediate demise.
  12. i assume tossing it in a trash bag for a day is so it fully soaks evenly and deep enough into the garments? if it's jackets or something and not just a t-shirt or something thin do you spray both inside and outside?
  13. I'd hunt with it but it is a little long. 34 to 35" is a nice hunting length for comfort at anchor. Still nothing will save a blind or fidgety indian though. I pulled some shots for a few 8s on the course release and shooting isn't where it needs to be but it was my first shoot of the year. Haven't shot in a while. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  14. ...theyve got little guys too. Nailed this guy stalking a rabbit. Then I shot the rabbit. Lol Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  15. ...some more. Soo fun. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  16. Here's some more from North America... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  17. Sorry in other post should've said 250 arrows spine is 400ish. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  18. '16 Elite Victory (39") I think around 67 lbs @ 29" draw. QAD elite dropaway, BStringer stabs, HHA single pin with dial and .010" fiber. CE BluRZ 400 arrows with blazers full max helical. Stan Shootoff release. All black pretty much. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  19. wrong picture. thought it was the blesbuck that was the target after the lion. posting them by looking at thumbnails from my phone. Asia too i guess that was the switch before going back to north america. the course is Pine Valley 3D (1285 Pine Valley Rd, Hoosick Falls, NY). you'd be more than welcome and anyone in the area is welcome to join the league too. can make up any week about any time. targets stay up. basically bowhunter setups and IBO scoring but distances can get stretched a bit far. 35 yards isn't the max. colored stakes and different colors to shoot from picked each week for the round. $10 per round. no rangefinders on the course. top scores at the end of summer go into the shootoff round. stakes pulled and about anything goes.
  20. sitting in my office. good luck to anyone out. you've got a couple hours left before the season is closed!
  21. i do various things related to my deer hunting year round but probably not as much as others. way more so i do things for hunting in the area and for others in the off season. i don't run cams until into august. enough time to take inventory before hard antler and shifting off summer patterns. before hard antler i try to get any stand sites ready or stands hung. binos are constantly with me though throughout the summer for the by chance opportunity i see something.
  22. i will admit that the cost of 3.5" shells especially with a payload more exotic than run of the mill plated lead does suck. i try not to shoot them much so it bothers me less.
  23. Then headed back to north America for some giant deer and other North American big game. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  24. Then over to the European Alps to fill an ibex tag. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
