I dont think i have ever been offended on this site. In real terms i dont give at rats a$$ what anyone thinks of me. I just think the few that seem to slam alot of posts on here or turn them into a statement like above that just begs for an argument should mabey think before posting. There will be no site if you dont have disagreements.

I myself hardly ever post on this site anymore because of 3 or 4 different people who want to bash some posts of others. The worst part is if you read the posts of these few its so easy to see that they are clueless to alot of what they write about. Still a few guys that pm me about hunting letchworth or raising whitetails and the rest is i just get on,read a bit,laugh a bit and move on!!

What would be the difference of sitting in a woodlot up the road from your house in ny state. If he shoots a buck and still has a doe tag are you going to want him out of the woods or are you going to wish him more luck on filling the next tag. I hunt in spots with others in which we hunt the same funnel in sight of each other mabey 100yds apart when bow hunting and have let many bucks walk by me and down to a buddy that may not have shot as many with the bow. Myself i think if you wanted him to stay out of the woods would be more of a slam on you. If you are real friends...As you must be to take trips together.. I would say to him great buck and if you have the cash get yur a$$ back up in that tree. But also with me taking a nice buck and if i was seein more action i would tell you to come sit where i shot my nice120 and i will find another tree!!! But if he is like me i wont matter as my buddies always say i must smell like a deer as it seems they always seem to head my way. Ofcourse thats because i hang my hunting cloths in the deer buildings!!!

Any problems around my area end's in the 3 S's Shoot,Shovel,Shut Up.... If any dog even smells the fence has a target on it's a$$. Right,Wrong or indifferent thats just the way it is. My dog is under my control at all times as all should be. Im sure my lab would love to run the 300 yards down the field and play with their ducks,geese and chickens. If he did and was out of my control and comes home in a box.. Well guess what..It would suck yes but it still would be my fault!!!!

I dont know if any of you guys have heard of Golden Marlin but that works better than prestone!!!

Yup Ft Drum reported 60mph up here in my backyard!!!! Man was it rippin!!!!

Doewacker mabey you have issues. I have in the past used others tags and i admit to that and i would put money and good money that ALOT of people that post on here have done the same. We all have been young and stupid once but atleast i have the a$$ to say that i have. Must be you and im sure a few others will chime in and say they are mr perfects and have never just bent the rules just a little.To that my friend i say whatever!!!!!! If people want to break laws so be it. Im not getting involved with it either way.Report or Not report!!! I have had deer shot in my bean fields and called them in a few times only to get someone will call you back...yeah right!!! I have offered to let them put the dummy deer up and no doubt catch a few dipsticks... Never happened... So say what you will because i have tried but will never again.I wish there were more perfect guys like you around!!

Thats my point about mismanagement. I dont think tags should even be able to be transferd. It does have to do with management in the long run. Lets say dec says 8m gets 4000 permits to hand out. If 1500 real hunters got 2 each that would be 3000 tags given out and 1000 not. Well if the guys that get there wives and kids and friends that dont hunt cant get tags for them that would leave 1000 tags not givin out and if the truth is known the dec in probably all wacked out on numbers of deer because of the guys that dont call their own harvests in or use the wives and kids tags and dont call them in!!! Hence management.... Save the part where some will say it does not happen.... I know of plenty in my area alone that never report!!!

Just another fine example of how screwed up ny state is and parts of their seasons,tags and harvests used for whitetail management!!!

Where is this deer herd located in ny??? I have heard of most farms. I must have missed this one!!!!

The only case i know of in which the fence was cut without the owners knowledge the dec and dept of ag gave him 48 hours to get them back or they were going to send guys out to kill them. Ofcourse it was around the rut and one buck was shot about 2 miles away and killin them was not just like some say..Shootin cows... Thats where alot of people have no clue.. On most ranches that hunt these deer are just as wild or even more so than there low fence cousins and if they get out i would say they are history. All i really can speak for is myself and if you look at the pic in my avatar you will see the class of whitetails i raise which are made for breeders. If someone or even myself see's a 250 to 300 whitetail runnin through the woods in ny state would no doubt shoot(mabey you would have to clean youeself up after you do). I said and want it to be known that i would shoot any deer i saw that had a tag in its ear with mine included. Yes i would give 100% energy to get a dart with my dart gun in his butt and if that was not possible i would take him out myself. (That would hurt). I have no problem with anyone on here shooting a deer with a tag in its ear and im sure most would know if they saw the tag first that it came from a farm as i have never heard of deer tagging in ny state.If my deer were out i would know in a matter of hours in not minutes and i would not be on the farmers side if he is one of the ones that never or not very often rides his fence to check things out and make sure all is ok as a tree could have fell or a bear could have bent it down or whatever but if his fence was cut that was beyond his control but he still should have found it. My problem is with some that say they would shoot,eat,mount and forget that they shot a deer with a tag and then never atleast find the owner or call dec and find the problem as there must be one!!!! I am sure the owner would let anyone keep the deer and he might not even have a choice but he would want the nodes to test for cwd as the state makes us do because that buck is on his inventory sheet. Heck i know myself i would give you one of my farm tags so you didnt have to burn your buck tag on it.... But ofcourse that would be for the few honest guys on here that would have done the right thing!!!!!

So there ya go doc.You are one of the so called good guys on this site yet you say this farmer is a jerk for putting you in that position. Did you ever think the guy didnt know some jerk of a so called hunter cut the guys fence to let those huge bucks out so mabey he could get a crack at one??? Amazing how two different threads can show the real side of some.

Would ya mount the deer if infact after you shot the deer and walked up to it and saw that it had the silver usda farm tags in its ear??

Yup here to... Have a friend that is a patrolman and he tells me all kinds of stories while we are on hunting trips. Some in law enforcement do and get away with some crazy stuff!!!

Yup it will be in his gun cabinet by weeks end!!!!

Wow some of you guys amaze me!!! I have seen some of the posts from some of you guys that post on here that make it sound like you guys are good and do no wrongs. But then say you would have shot the deer and then had it mounted. Lol.. Thats a joke. I bet you would have told yur friends it was just a wild deer. Did you ever think about doing the right thing...(I see some on here did) Yes i would have shot the deer and then yes i would have brought it back to the game farm and found out what was going on. With me having deer i still would have shot the deer. Who knows mabey some dipstick cut the guys fence to try and let the deer out. It happened up here one year and 7 bucks escaped. They darted 2 of them that hung around the farm and got them back in and all the others were shot in the wild by hunters. well guess what... 4 of them were returned by the hunters because they knew it was wrong to keep a deer shot in the wild with a tag in its ear... Then the word got out that one guy shot one and did not return it and dec was brought it and it ended being the guy that cut the fence and charges were filed. And yes before you ask the farmer gave the venision to every hunter that shot one and offered the cape and rack(minus the lymph nodes for cwd testing) and they all took the meat and said no thanks to the rack.... Whats that tell ya????

Another victim of cwd.Great buck though and im sure he donated the meat to someone who needed it!! The only way we can get the rack and cape back into the states is by special packing. He will have memories forever!!!!

I can tell you there is a pile of them down around letchworth state park but i have never seen so many up here in our bean fields. There is probably 1000 out my back door now and we didnt get the 10in of lake effect they were calling for so i guess they will be hanging out for awhile longer!!!

Dave i agree 110% and again if we get it brought in it will be by illegal means by deer farmers or hunters alike. Deer farms are so regulated that i doubt someone would be that stupid to go around the law and bring a deer into the state without a permit from the dept of ag. If they ever got nabbed doing that they would have their whole herd destroyed on sight.... Not worth it with the thousands i have invested but we all know there are all kinds of people out there..so who knows!!!

Dave you have an opinion and i will respect that but your way of thinking does not hold water. Do you realize that you can go to the state of micigian and hunt wild deer that have had cwd and mabey end up killing a deer that tests positive for cwd??? You can go hunt deer behind any fenced in ranch in the same state and you will never kill one that has cwd. Its kinda a joke when it comes to all the testing that we have to do but it is for the better of all whitetails. When the case of cwd was brought into ny state it never really had anything to do with a deer farm. The waste material that that guy had was tossed out the door for any animal to have contact with and it just so happens that it was his penned deer that came in contact with that waste. It could have been any wild deer that did but we dodged a bullet and that did not happen. Just as joe said if people want to break laws then anything can happen and any disease can be brought into the state.We have laws in effect to stop that from happening but laws only work if people use them. Do you realize you or i can go hunting in any of the states that still have cwd issues,Kill a deer.bring it back into nys throw the waste out into the wild and if a deer comes in contact with it....bingo we have cwd. We just broke the law but we now have cwd.... Try to kill a deer behind a fence with any kind of health problems.... Impossible to do and also it is legal to bring ANY DEER taken from ANY FENCED IN HERD from ANY STATE that HAS CWD...into ny state...Whats that tell ya???

What area are you from??? I still have 3 summits and i am selling one of the open shots i have. This stand is made for the bow hunter in mind all the way. You dont have the rail in front of you when you are standing getting ready for bow shots!! I have alot of guys that hunt on my land and that travel with me and they all have summits..with most havin 2 or 3!!
