  1. Not sure which one got me the best....The THS or the great tasting BB thoughts?
  2. Not in these parts...It seems like the other meat eaters do not like the Vermin either. They lay and rot regardless the time of year around here.
  3. I would be taking a 140 eight before being worried about a ten point. It takes a really really good 8 to get 140 inches on his head. Would love to see the pic of that one!
  4. To many more posts like this and you probable wont have to worry about to many people replying back to you....
  5. Maybe have a standoff boys.........One with compound and One with Xbow..... We could bet on the winner. Start st 100yds with blunts. lol. Time to give this one a rest and sit back and watch the laws get changed and welcome the Xbow into full archery season. I Am In!!!!!!!!
  6. Their return answer to this will be less hunters in the woods every year so they need to make it easier for anyone that wants to kill one, Kill One!
  7. Yup!! You have people that do real world everyday stuff then you have book readers that believe everything they read. Yotes will wipe out your deer and your small game if their numbers explode in an area and with only having a short time to hunt and trap them the guy with the problem will never catch up with them. They are way to crafty. You have to declare full war on the vermin, do whatever needs to be done to fix your problem and let the chips fall where they will. Research is right saying that their numbers will rebound because under normal conditions you can't take but a few of them and then the pack rebuilds! Take out 8-10 in one spot and you will dispose of your problem quick. That's everyday Research! Hands On!
  8. lol.....Yeah i was just trying to help that other guy understand your post about poaching...Not sure if it helped or not. HaHa
  9. lol.......Now add a little white glitter on the ground and we can sit till 6-7pm during the best part of the rut... Sweeeet!
  10. I believe i am a bow hunter, I think i was out there about everyday cept the real nasty ones but i also tried the Crossbow for thw first time this year. I love the thing BUT what a pain in the A$$. Try pulling one of those things 20 feet up into a pine tree, Wear a climber on your back, grab the Xbow and head to the bottom of Letchworth. What a pain. Has a strap but sure cant use it and have to carry the thing like a baby in your arms. Then after you set the string you are playing with something that will bite ya real hard if you hit the trigger with your arm or hand in the way. That power will break something. The thing is easier to shoot than my Mathews but sure not easier to use and i dont see many people putting up with the pain just to get into bow season. If your not in a blind with shooting sticks My Ten Point is a pain in the A$$ but a pretty sweet shooting piece of hunting equipment.........
  11. Doc I'm sure you won't have that problem. That's the part that gets me with some of the crap some people will believe. We live in a computer world with hunting sites and Facebook and the highest hunter densitiey in the country yet we never see a single picture of one of the ghosts? You know as well as I do that if the DEC was trapping/killing these things it would be in the media to get their brownie points. It's like in Watertown where they spend 1000's and 1000's to haze these crows that call the city home in the winter? My god year after year they spend this money and the crows get worse. It's all this thinking that we have to do something and try and fix something that is either not broke or not there at all???
  12. I Agree!!! Because it was a bunch of Bullsh!t and we have no pigs to adjust!!!!! It was DEC way of stepping on toes and it had already so backfired. If anything they made it worse because people had to spend more money to do the same thing and now there will be anew breed of hog to deal with. If they get out of course!
  13. Never raised them myself but believe people should be able to as long as their contained! I would love to have some around to hunt! As far as high fence hogs go, Don't feel to bad because they only banned a part of the picture? Farms are now breeding normal everyday hogs to a Canadian breed and will be hunting those? Just as wild and as good on the table!!! You see the DEC can push the high fence world and win a battle here and there but will never win the war! The high fence world always has a way around them! Like they are pushing the Urine ban because of a pig like ghost called CWD. Well they sure can't ban the making of it or the selling of it and as long as it does not hit the ground they can do nothing! Many enjoy the underarm version. !
  14. They stopped private ownership of hogs because the were going to get out and breed. Well you tell me after all these years and all you have is old outdated pictures how can this be? We should see hogs all over by now! Again dec stefpping over their bounds not having a real clue on the matter? I guess they can't breed in Ny?? If so where is the updated proof
  15. Yeah they have saw Bigfoot also so we should put up a bunch of stupid laws and stop business.
  16. Yeah.... All Theory! Like there are even any around Ny!! It's a joke and just DEC strong arm like they are now trying to do with Whitetail Urine? We are the highest hunted state with like 15 hunters per mile or such a thing and yet here another season goes by with 1000's of trail cams in the woods yet not 1 picture of one anywhere! Yeah Ok!!!!!
  17. Why change things now? We already own that with our 3 month hunting season and no baiting and no Urine and no certin guns and on and on. We have owned that label for years!!!
  18. Yeah this is kinda over the top. I agree they have they best 2 weeks in the bow season right smack in the hot season for Whitetails and if it stayed that way I would still be happy to use it but it still should be included in the whole season and then let the hunter decide what to use. If they already have the best last 2 weeks what is the hurt to add the first 2 weeks? Any smart hunter is still going to get a crossbow and hunt those best 2 weeks. Most hunt private land so if you did not want a weapon in that land then make the call?
  19. You won't get any arguments out of me on that one. The study was done and speaks of hunting and trapping. That will do very little to rid the vermin. Again one must start at the beginning to have any kind of impact and that is impact!
  20. So So True.... Not even close to the same problems a mere 10 miles away. Those cute little fur balls grow up to be ruthless killers and when they add up to any kind of numbers will wipe out much more than just deer. Doc, I can tell you for a 100% fact that on our farm here and the farm in 8M have never ever been close on the yote numbers. We have always had piles of deer down there with very few dogs ever seen of heard and very few ever taken by traps or running with dogs. Up here the numbers were reversed with piles of dogs and no deer. What was also shown up here with our problem was the total lack of any small game be it bird or animal. I believe that all started with them wiping out the nests.young and eggs of anything that used to call the farm home. Amazing turn around on this land a few short years after the war.
  21. Those muscle lines really show up when you take those mature bucks...Great Job!
  22. Have to have a problem before you need to fix it. Many places in Ny will never have a problem but it does not take a lot of smarts to know where to start if you do have a problem and hunting and/or trapping for a couple months wont cut it.
