Four Season Whitetail's

Awesome bucks for sure. Again take the guns out of the main rut and Ar and you will see more brutes like these. I am not much for putting pics up but have like 5 on my phone that were taken on the park this year. All bow kills!

Late season issues start with bucks dropping antlers and getting shot and tagged for does?

My guess is he gave up Bow because it was just way to easy and had way to many of those great 130's! Like the hunter on hunter statement on Letchworth. For him to have and see that problem one must sit within view of their pickup while on watch? Maybe that explains it??

Should not take 2 months to get it done and really if it does then maybe that area should be closed all together? 8 weeks is way to long!

You got that right...Anyone that needs more time in gun season to harvest a deer needs to either learn how to hunt a little better or find a new place to hunt. More Bow/Crossbow and less of any kind of gun will help make a better hunting Ny.....

Get rid of the Oct 1st bow opener and back to the 15th, Bow/Crossbow till Dec 1st and then 3 weeks of gun. State Wide!!!! All these weeks of gun in the North is crazy and has helped take the deer off the landscape in any areas. Its a joke to think that Muzzle is not just like adding 2 weeks of gun season onto the already to long season.

I just got charged again today for my yearly $10 site donation for this site. It would be nice to see more of us that enjoy this site everyday to buck up and donate a cheap 10 spot for the upkeep of a pretty good site we all enjoy to read and use? For the most part we all get along on here and the ones that dont seem to keep their infighting to a minimum, where as in the past not so much. Anyways John would never ask but a simple 10 spot from even half of our users would be a huge help i'm sure!

Myself i would rather see an earlier gun season and no guns during any of the rut and then a late season gun.

The DEC has about nothing to do with deer farms...Thats where the problem sits i believe..as they should'nt!!! Thats like putting the fox in charge of the chickens. We all know the DEC takes high fence hunting as something that competes with them. That fact is true in a way. High fence gets bigger every year because of piss poor Mgmt on their side. When people dont see good deer or any deer they will find them. Its all about demand..No demand..No high fence. As far as Ny farms and urine we are ran by the Dept of Ag because like it or not Whitetails are on the USDA list of farmed animals. We are the tightest ran anywhere compared to any other state. We are 100% tested o every death. We are 100% Tb tested every 3 years, We have to be 100% inventoried by the state every year,and the list goes on. The facts are that CWD has been around forever and has caused no issues in any state as far as herd killings, The bigger fact is that CWD prions have never been found in whitetail deer urine and that is even urine being drawn and tested from 100% brain and node tested whitetails. The other issue with this is that there is a fact that CWD prions have been 100% found in corn and alfalfa yet Ny or any other state for that matter has no issues selling and using corn and hay coming right out of these CWD hotbed states and use it themselves to bait deer to kill them. The problem is they just infected that soil area for years..but want to ban something that has never been proven to cause harm.This is typical Ny! My bigger fight in court will be why we are not smart enough in Ny to only sell urine out of our CWD free herds in our own CWD free state? If they are that worried about this why would they not try to help Ny business people and keep Ny money in Ny and on the tax roll. They cant stop farmers from collecting and selling urine but they could charge someone if they see them dumping it in the woods....like the DEC is going to ever do that! They cant stop you from having it in your pocket and putting a little dab under you armpit if you feel so inclined. Its a pretty stupid law if ya think about it because it will never be able to be enforced. Like Doe said, they have a few things on their radar that hunters might be interested in. Jump on there and give them your thoughts on the urine ban and the list of others.

Well lets see? You speak of no deer in your hunting spots but then say that there must be no or very few yote killings in your area? Well Ya i guess if you had no deer you would have no killings. Unless of course they are Walking Dead back from the East side to the West. You may also be in one of the lucky places that still have a small game population. I would have to say that it seems even the Yote population in down as only 3 were killed i the North and 2 were taken at Camp with not a lot of night time yippin and yappen!

Just more taxpayers money spent fighting another lawsuit. No science behind this one and a judge will be the one to decide. It is funny that they want to stop using urine because of CWD when there has never been a case of the prions being found in any urine yet they bait with Corn and Alfalfa...Both have been 100% proven to hold and spread the CWD prions! Typical Ny!

Would that be kinda on the small side for those big bodied bucks? A close to perfect shot it would prob work but jumping one my call for an angle thru the body. I think i would feel a little naked with a small caliber in the big woods?

I can tell you where a huge number of your deer went and it sure was not Trophy Hunters... You can blame your DEC along with farmers and sharpshooters.

All sounds good but lets remember that all deer farms in Ny state are 100% tested with every death.They have no incoming deer from any source. So how i must ask do you think CWD could show up on a Ny farm? That answer would be from an outside vector. So the state says we are CWD free so where could this vector come from? I totally understand the need and wish to not have CWD spreading around our landscape but to pick out one of the least possible vectors because of an agenda is far from being right. They have no science to back up their theory in urine containing prions in a natural state. Now for black market i am not sure of all that. We will still draw and use urine but my point is that Ny state farmer, Hunter and Ny people all stand to gain if they yes did make it so only Ny whitetail urine could be used and sold. Ban urine coming in but only urine from out of state whitetails. But can we expect Ny to do the right or smart thing?

Public Input on Hunting Regulations-Ny dec.ny.gov They have a bunch of things on their radar. One would think that with Ny being one of only 5 states considered CWD free even though we had it years ago and sure if they would test more animals around the Pa border they would find positives here now, That they would pull all the crap off the shelves from all the other CWD positive states and only sell urine from our own 100% tested CWD free herds in the sporting goods stores? All money would stay in Ny, would be Ny taxable and would be a win-win for all involved. Im sure this one will be played out in a court of law...
