    Gonna play the wind and hunt on the ground tomorrow am.. bringing a blind chair out with the xbow to sit behind some down limbs. I know where they're bedding and unfortunately my stands are not on their routes this year!! Had my target buck at 75 yds yesterday he literally walked under the tree my deepest stand was in last year lol.... That's hunting

    Depends where you think they're walking to/from. If you have an idea where they eat and where they bed then they might have a buck follow them back to bedding

    First sit in this stand all year. Thick cover upwind and fresh rubs everywhere

    Saw a dozen or more deer but nothing mature only 1 doe was.. Had a spike come right into my antler ice. My stand setup is pretty open behind some houses pretty much where the doe browse and bed mid day.. Bucks are across the street in a swamp. Gonna have to get back into the timber tonight.

    5 does and 2 spikes so far. One of the does must be hot cause they're sprinting all over the neighbors lawn. Saw a nice 8 pointer at 75 yds last night he acted like he was deaf to my calling. Cams seem dead so I'm not sure where we're at in the rut here...

    Buddy shot a nice buck at last light i heard his xbow go off and the buck run into corn... Not good blood gonna give it a few hours. I saw the same buck working a scrape.. 9 pt... Exciting stuff

    Saw 4 does but no buck trailing... One doe was running by at 60 yds but nothing ended up coming through. Nice buck on cam at 7:24am yesterday but i was at work of course.... Lots of chasing this morning and pretty quiet tonight

    Starting to snow here in 8H. Gotta go into work for an hour then I'm headed to 8G where it looks even colder. Hoping to see some bucks go down in the next few days!!

    Woods are going crazy this morning.. I heard grunting halfway up my stand... Lots of chasing. Just need something to work closer now. Glad i took off work!! Good luck all

    Yep I still have all my tags.... I was fortunate to see 2 shooters on Saturday an hour apart from eachother. One came in right after I rattled at first light but to about 80-90 yds, the other was chasing a doe grunting, at 38 yds but he wouldn't stop for a shot. Took off Thurs and Fri so I plan on hunting hard Thurs-Sun.. Looks like cold + snow!! Good luck all. What I am feeling really good about is my rifle being dead on after pulling it out of the case and shooting it for the first time this year... Ready to gun hunt

    2nd sit in this stand I'm hoping little pressure translates into some movement through here tonight.. Haven't been in the stand in 3 weeks... wind directly in my face.. Good luck all

    Just had a long stare down with my target buck. Like all mature bucks he came downwind of my rattling. Wind is going NW unfortunately. The does watched the whole thing go down but they kept their cool. Good luck all

    Shouldn't be a problem at all, in fact your first sit might just get it done. When i move i always seem to trick a few deer once or twice but after that there's a lot of human scent

    I will sit longer now yes especially because my scrapes are getting hit hard and with the cold front this weekend. Have never sat dark to dark before but next week I have 2 days off I might sit all day and move between 2 or 3 different stands all within a couple hundred yards of eachother..

    141 (2013) and 139 (2017).. The buck in 2017 was a tank and probably 230-240 live weight.. Maybe 250 idk i didn't weigh him... My truck was 400 feet away and i still needed the tractor bucket

    He's my cousins nephew.. I guessed 180 when i first saw the buck. You guys know just as much as i do. Those swamp bucks get big around here as you 8G guys know

    I heard 2 bucks sparring in the swamp across the street from where i hunt while getting dressed yesterday around 4pm... For me, they usually are locked down and nocturnal to that swamp until pre rut.. Which is pretty much now... Then they cross the street and respond to my calls

    As i get older I'm using all wool base layers.. I use a Cabelas Wooltimate jacket and pants as my outer layer. Dead quiet drawing my bow and very windproof. During gun season i dont care about noise too much i care about lasting 3-4 hours on stand!!

    New scrapes popping up.. Checked cams got 2 or 3 new bucks ... tonight did a little rattling after hearing 2 bucks spar across the street from my truck while I was getting dressed... No takers tonight!!

    I bought the chest harness one at Field & Stream takes a lot of pressure off your neck.. Strapped on my Bushnell trophy 10x42... Can still shoot the bow with them on... $11.99.. My binocs have flaps for the glass

    Hearing lots of movement every few minutes.. Hoping to see some mature antlers soon. Starting to see does browse towards bedding now and I'm pretty sure a fawn is walking around in here behind my stand.. Sounds like a 10 pointer tho lol.... Good luck all
