I was RIDING in a car that was going REALLY fast one time. A drunk Mexican was driving. We had killed 3 bull elk on his property that day to the tune of $500 per elk and he was celebrating his good fortune..His speedometer went to 100 and he had it pegged and floored for miles.It was dark and there were elk crossing the road all over. I thought I was going to die. I kissed the ground when he finally stopped and swore that I would never ride with him again.

Hell, 42 is my waist size...I have jocky shorts OLDER than 50 years..Some of them were autographed by Wilt Chamberlain when he was a rookie..He was a great ball handler.

Oh good ! I'm not a big fan either, but I had Dom Delouise on the Nascar Board down at the legion. I must have won $10 or so... Now I can afford to play $2 apiece on the next 5 races.

Yeah, but even where legal you still have to pay the $500 fee to the Feds for the "priviledge" to buy it...That would take a lot of fun out of it..

I'm very fond of anchovies, too, but for some reason I don't care for them on pizza. I'll eat 'em every day right out of the jar on crackers or in a salad. One of my old retired buddies takes Hungarian wax peppers out of his garden, stuffs them with anchovies and then marinates them olive oil every summer. Along about Thanksgiving time he gives me a few. I look forward to them every year. Some day I'm going to try doing them up like that myself.

Well Biz, you gotta consider that this shop is in Pennsyltucky, and is kinda BACKWARD like upstate NY rather than being on the cutting edge like your shops down there in Westchester... Actually, all they REALLY had there was black powder and round balls.

Jerkman...I was over in Elkland, PA tonite and stopped in Biekirch's Gun Shop to pick up a can of powder. While I was there, I checked out the factory loads to see if they had any .300 Wby ammo for ya. They had .300 Win, .300 WSM, and even some .300 RUM, but they didn't have a single box of .300 WBY. I figured that must be the "good hunters" had bought them all up..<<wink>>...

The Mermaid's daughter-in-law is Phillipina, and she shops at the oriental store often, so I just have her pick them up for me...Actually, she is the one who turned me on to them.

If you're near Horseheads, stop in the Oriental Store right in town near the 5 corners. They have the LIGAS brand for a buck a can. They are good and you can't beat the price.

The Finger Lakes used to have good smelt runs, but that's pretty much a thing of the past, at least on Seneca and Keuka.

Anybody ever the opportunity to try FRESH sardines ? From what I have read they are excellent fried or grilled.. I would love to try them. I sure do like fried smelt. I also canned up a bunch of smelt one time in spaghetti sauce, and they were very good.
