Congrats on your many rodeos. Not sure if your trying to say I shouldn't comment because you think I don't know what I'm talking about but I'm not getting into that pissing match. Regardless of what article you wanna pick off google, your not going to see antler marks in scrapes in NY as often as you would in states with many more mature big bucks. Your local 1.5 and 2.5 old deer in NY probably won't even master scrape making before being plugged by the local shotgunner. Not saying it's not possible or that they defiantly don't do it now and then, but I've been doing this quite awhile myself and still haven't seen it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't think I've ever heard of them using their tines. I think that guy might be confused with their hooves causing they narrow drag marks in the dirt that he's seeing. Most likely the toe of their hoof doing it, it is kinda pointy like a tine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Chilly out this morning. Getting pretty windy here too. Was nice and calm on my walk in to the blind. Haven't seen anything besides birds and squirrels. I didn't expect much from this blind in the mornings but I'm holding back on getting into my top stands until tomorrow. The front that's bringing snow starts moving in and it should be a good couple days after that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone else seeing snow in the forecast for Thursday? Not sure if my eyes are playing tricks on my or does it really say 3-5 inches lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Windy out here! Stable ladder stand in a big healthy strong pine tree was my choice to combat the winds. Had a partridge spot me like 20 mins ago. Those dang things have amazing eye sight. I barely moved and it bolted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What a beautiful morning. Kicking off my week of vacation here in my field corner stand. Had a doe and a yearling come by about a hour ago. I took some time to check out the younger one to make sure it wasn't a fawn and by the time I was sure I could take the older doe I lost my shot opportunity. Watched them slowly graze across the field away from me for the last hour. Will most likely get out around 9 and head back in around 12 to a different stand. Good luck today everyone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Turkey wasn't the intended target of the day. But after a few miles of up and down steep hills I was ready to put something down. We were literally 80 yards from the camp and came upon the turkeys. Popped a turkey load in real quick and put him down. He will be a tasty addition to thanksgiving dinner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Back from camp. No deer down but a couple sightings between 4 of us. Got lucky this morning on our way back to camp around 1130 we walked up on a group of turkeys making their way down the edge of the pond. Wind was blowing like crazy which must be why they didn't see us. We spotted a long beard in the group and I was able to get a shot off. Of course when shot he flopped around in the mud and went farther out into the mud flat. Almost couldn't get him out of there the mud was so deep and sucked ya right in, I almost lost a boot! Lol. It was a good day to be walking around the dacks. A couple rubs we found today on our travels Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Live from my office[emoji53]. Getting off at 4 and headed up to camp. Hoping to get there before dark. Can't drive to this camp. Usually we take boats but the water is so low this year that's out. Other than walk a mile carrying all my gear I opted to bring the 4 wheeler for my ride in. Hope it's not raining to hard when I get there! Good luck to everyone out today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Don't worry too much stone. I've been pulling ticks out of my two boys all summer. My 3 year old just went to the doctor Monday for a tick in his upper ear! Wife noticed it while I was already at work and she couldn't get it out. My boy actually went to her complaining his ear hurt and she found it. No clue how long it was there. Doc got it out and said to just keep a eye on the area. He's shown no signs of Lyme or anything. But I've pulled at least 5 out of him and 3 or 4 from my other son this summer. Not counting the ticks we found crawling on them or in their hair. Our dog seems to be a tick magnet. I know my wife has spent over $400 in the last 3 months on tick meds for this damn dog and he still picks up 2-3 a day! It's like never ending with him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nothing has touched my brassicas yet either. For the small patch I put in there's a decent little stand of them. Some nice bulbs pushing up out of the ground too. I have a small plot of that Fusion blend from WI. Clover/chic mix. And it's also getting mowed right to the ground. I think I'll be planting a lot more of that next year. My deer seem to really enjoy clover. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Absolutely. I like mixing it up a bit. Keeps hunting season fun and interesting. My buddy's camp is mostly a fishing camp but there's a small patch of state land that borders him that should hold a couple deer. I've never hunted it or even walked it. A nice dinner and some cold beers Saturday night and a nice walk around the woods Sunday with some good guys sums up a good day in my book. Come Monday morning it's game time though behind my house. I've given them a week off with zero pressure. Cold front moving in Sunday should really get them up and moving next week. One can only hope at least! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Still to warm for me. Going to hold off on hunting my property here until Monday. Next week is looking to be much better weather wise. I am going to be headed up my buddy's camp in northern zone Saturday after work to go walk around with the rifles Sunday. Deer or no deer it will be a good time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I hope trump follows through with his promise to put her behind bars. Right where she belongs. I could care less what any "poll" says on the news. There's no way she's winning. I think on election night your gonna see trump win by quite a big margin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
No hunting for me today. Working 2nd shift this week so if I get any hunting done at all it will be morning hunts. But with all next week off and temps look to be dropping next week I think I'm gonna let all my stands rest and hit it hard next week. Let's see if I can resist the temptation to hunt lol Went atv riding with some guys from work yesterday afternoon while the weather was real warm. Had a awesome time riding around the mountains. Drank a couple cold ones and enjoyed some delicious venison burgers for a late lunch by a remote pond. And I didn't bust anything up on my wheeler which makes the trip itself a success! Haha. Here's a couple pics I snapped during the day. Wish I could've got more but it's not easy to work the phone and keep up with the others lol https://vimeo.com/187740285 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dang where you guys hunting at with the warm temps and wind. It's been dead calm here and it was 37 when I headed into the woods. It doesn't feel much warmer than that even now. I haven't seen anything yet. I kinda figured that with the full moon. Beautiful calm crisp morning though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Saw the rear end of a deer taking off downwind of me about 100 yards away. That's about all I saw tonight. It was a bit windy but the scenery was worth it. Working the rest of the night. Hope to get shut down early enough to make it in the woods in the morning. Weather looks to be real warm tomorrow afternoon so I'm taking the afternoon off from hunting and going atv riding with some buddies. Should be a good time and the views of the fall foliage in the mountains will be awesome. Congrats to everyone who shot one today. And good luck to everyone tomorrow. One of my best friends got married the last week of October a few years ago. Made me best man so it wasn't like I could even no show. And the worst part was I was out in Kansas hunting at the time! I hate flying so I drove all the way from KS to mayfield ny and went back a couple days later. I knew about this wedding like a year in advance and I tried allllll dang year to get him to grow a set and tell his old lady that the wedding needs to be in September instead lol. I over slept this afternoon and didn't get out. Weather was fantastic too I hate when I over sleep. My buddy called me though and said he missed a bear. I went down there and double checked for him. Found the arrow with no blood so it was a clean swing and a miss lol. He was shocked to see the bear as he's hunting just outside the Albany line in a populated area. I wouldn't of expected him to see a bear in where he's at. Pretty dang cool though. I'll be out in the stand again Sunday morning hopefully Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well I'm back in the stand for the afternoon. Last time I'll sit this stand until the last week of October. I have a week off and plan do some all day sits. I made a mock scrape not far from my stand and put a camera over it. Will let this area rest after this afternoon. I got up in the stand around 350 after getting the scrape and camera up and a young doe came by before I even had my bow up in the tree at 30 yards bleating like crazy. She walked right on by and never stopped. Pretty warm out. Don't expect much movement.

When I shot my doe last weekend I had just put my phone in my pocket from sending my buddy a text saying I hadn't seen anything yet. 3 mins later I texted him saying doe down lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well I should be in my tree now.....but my relief decided he wasn't gonna make it in at 5am...[emoji58]. So I guess I'm not hunting this morning unfortunately. I'm pretty ticked off about it though. Gonna have to give this guy a ear full whenever he rolls his lazy ass in here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Got help. We found the blood again and took it across the road. Where we found her. Alive. Shot was high and back a hair and looks to have missed the vitals. Hit that sweet spot just below the spine. It was a steep angle shot so I'm not surprised. I've seen it happen in a antelope before. We watched that sucker walk for miles before we figured out he would live. My doe saw us and bolted. Was hardly any blood the last 300 yards so I'm assuming she will make it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
