I just had a poult come through from behind me. I could barely see its head over the skunk cabbage. Behind it was a bigger bodied bird but couldn’t tell if it was a Tom- it busted me while I tried to turn and took a path further from me while following the baby. I have a ladder stand right there and almost sat in it this morning- I wasn’t sure if being in a ladder would help or hurt me since I am hunting with a bow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My boy was gobbling from the roost about 15+ from 4:45-5:30. He flew down OVER MY HEAD and landed where I normally park (good call Dan on the open area landing zone) but away from where I saw them Sunday. When he was out of my sight and behind a mulch pile I snuck around and found him in the neighbors yard. I am now set up where I Hope he will gather his ladies!. No gobbles while on the ground Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The “parking area” is the most open area...I’m going to give that a shot. Park elsewhere and then hide behind some vehicles...I did find some wing feathers and tracks in that spot ...now to try and sleep!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why? Treat your clothes once and it last quite a long time-even though washes. I do not treat them every time I enter the woods Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Chicken cutlets (with bio chicken topper-becoming a favorite!) with rice pilaf, grilled veg and orzo salad; and tomato/mozzarella Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Haha...SE/3S is a different world. I appreciate your help. There are no fields- this strip of woods is surrounded by backyards, parkways and public parks (like baseball fields and tennis courts). It is certainly not where I hunt to “get away from it all” but is it super productive for deer and, fingers crossed, turkey! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh wait....with barber shops being closed could it be...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am hunting a literal strip of woods that are loaded with deer...there’s no way in past him without having a Jumamgi experience! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No decoys...when is “just before you think he should fly down?” Is that based on light? Will he start to get fidgety or vocal as a sign of fly down? He stayed in the tree after I pulled out and drove away Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He was up there already 75 yards from where I park my car. He must have seen me pull in, turn around, put on my boots, walk to 40 yards of the tree and then look up and there he is. I hung around blocked by some farm vehicles ...deer blowing and crashing all around me- sounds like the opening scene of the lion king! I walked back to my car and he is still there. Clearly he is used to some human foot traffic. There’s just no way for me to set up tomorrow morning where I saw them Sunday without walking right under him. What call do I use to get him to fly down toward my car and main farm house... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

10 units of varying length...practice test after that and then the real deal. One kids did it in a few days...couple a day,...other one dragged his feet. My buddy’s daughter banged it out in one day - girls are smart! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Walking up hill both ways in the snow to their spot with the one pair of shoes (if they are lucky to have it that day since they share it with their 8 siblings) they own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Trying to get ready for my day camp to open at a private club in Westchester. Unfortunately the state or county dept of health have given no guideline or protocols to follow- this new virus that is hitting kids hard is not helping. The Am Camp Association. just put out am lab 82 page “field guide” to summer camps with multiple links off the 82 pages. That’s how I spent my day- planning while not knowing if our plans will meet the requirements of the agencies who haven’t told us the requirements but will decide if we can or cannot open?!? Sounds about right! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He has no porcupines!!! Are the nail scratches on the opposite side of the chewed section?!? I like Cynthia’s idea of a fat squirrel getting stuck. I am picturing it sliding in and frantically reaching through the pull himself free- and nibbling the fence to free his fat ass/hips. Or it’s a porcupine! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Don’t we all! If I stayed put instead of trying to cut them off where I thought they were headed after pushing those birds yesterday I may have had success. They were in the same spot I first saw them when I came back after my failed run and gun/bow! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m leaving cuz I got NO SNOW DAYS and no ice fishing !!!! The weather was TOO GOOD! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
So I went back to where I first saw them this morning at about 11:00 and they were still where I first saw them....no response to any of my terrible calling! At 11:30 I said let me see if that are still there and sure enough they are ... They walked right past the tree I was hiding behind when I tried to jump them the first time and walk out of my life! I may be waking up super early and giving it a shot! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Figured I take a little stroll with the bow in 3S...kicked a huge bodied deer near where I enter, cross a little creek and see multiple turkey 75 yards away and walking slowly away through some tall grass. I figured my best bet would be to try and bust ass parallel to them and try to cut them off if they are headed where I think they are headed. Find a tree and set up behind it and hit the box call - sort of sounds like a sound a turkey would make?!? No response. Would they return to the area where I originally move them from(presumably their roosting site)?Do I go back that way OR move deeper presuming I didn’t cut them off? OR don’t cut bait and slip out now to try and return another day pre-fly down- not looking to “jerky” out- just wondering if I would be pressuring them too much by staying here now when they know I am here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
