  1. Trail cams were dead once again last night. Just a little 4 or 6pt. This is getting old. Keep thinking "One of these days"...
  2. Looking for recommendations for snowshoes, mainly to get out and do some predator hunting in the winter. Don't want anything expensive, just a decent pair that will allow me to get out a few times each winter when the snow gets deep. I'm near a field that tends to drift pretty bad. What am I looking for??
  3. Yesterday, my cams were popping with activity from 2:30pm - 6:30pm. Today same time, not a single pic…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Daylight savings tonight! Don't forget to turn those clocks AND alarms back! Don't want anyone to forget and oversleep tomorrow!
  5. Don't forget to turn those clocks AND alarms back tonight! Don't want anyone to forget and oversleep tomorrow!
  6. Tapped out! Saw 4 coyotes, 2 red fox and 1 coon! Looks like someone better start some predator control! Maybe brush up on some calling skills.... or should I say, "Get some calling skills"! LOL
  7. Had a pack of 4 coyotes come by 3 different times in the last half hour! Just can’t get them to stop moving for a shot. Lip squeaked them back the second time. Bastards!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Just a red fox so far…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Walked out the door today and man the coyotes were fired up!! There had to be dozen in a 800 yard stretch of woods, non-stop barking, yipping and howling! I almost didn’t go to my stand, as I needed to walk through the middle of them. Never heard them so vocal before!! Could be why the deer aren’t here… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Interesting. Pretty much my experience too. Cams were popping between 2:30 right up until dark, but not one pic from overnight!
  11. Very unusual! My cell hams have been popping since 2:30! More cam activity since 2:30, than I’ve had in the past week combined actually! Just a couple small bucks and maybe 5 does, but by God it’s activity anyways!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Ok, cool! I’ll just consider it cover scent until we get that good rain! LOL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. But they do return to feed in it after a bit of time? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Sure was a crunchy loud walk in this afternoon! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Had a pic of a lone doe on one cam at 2:30pm. Then, had a pic of a little 7pt at another cam moving at 3:15pm. That’s promising anyways! The way my season has been going, it doesn’t take much for me to get excited anymore! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Is it true that once farmers spray liquid manure on ag fields as fertilizer, the deer stop feeding there? The adjoining property just cut the corn 2 days ago and I was happy to see all the corn left on the ground. I walked in today and noticed they recently sprayed the field with liquid manure. I’ve hear the deer will no longer feed in the field once this happens and I certainly can’t blame them. True? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. YEP, pretty much!! Just try to keep the faith that our turns coming my friend!
  18. Rather than stare at a deerless woods any longer, I decided my day would be better spent bringing in some firewood. Gotta cord stacked on the porch and another cord stacked and covered by the shed.... just incase! Heading back out to the stand soon, probably to stare at a deerless woods again until dark...
  19. The piebald has passed by twice at about 75 yards. Seemed to be franticly searching for a doe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. None of the 10 cell cams even had a pulse last night! Not one deer!! Just pics of coyotes, fox and coons! Trying to keep the faith, but lose some with each passing morning I wake up to dead cams and have dead woods every day. Surly one of these days... My son has hunted a property 2 miles away for the past 3 seasons now. He said it seems like the bucks don't start seeking or chasing until ~11/9 there. Trying to remain positive. In the mean time, heading out for hunt #20....
  21. I hate when that happens! Or it deflects off an unseen twig... but it never seems it's the shooters fault.
  22. Is this what your talking about? If so, I put one up and it was amazing! My son helped me put it up and once we locked the jaws (from the ground), he climbed into the stand and said it was so secure he jokingly said that he didn't think we needed to use any ratchet straps on it! Rock solid, before we even put any ratchet straps on it! Makes putting it up and taking it down much easier AND safer!!!
