  1. Attn Moderators - PLEASE remove this post! (If my wife see's this that'll be one more thing added to my "Honey-Do" list!!) LOL WOW!! Beautiful job! Sure wish I could do that!
  2. I know if I don't cut it, I'll sit there in my stand and stare at it until it drives me nuts. Then, I'll have to drag the pole saw out and cut it later!
  3. I agree, except when they put a Rage through the cage! Kind of hard to clean up that mess! LOL
  4. I use vanilla scent alot of times in front of my cams. Don't know if it draws them in, but it sure helps them to stop and pose! Good curiosity scent. Remember Dan Fitzgerold and his "Vanilla Killa" scent? I swear that was just vanilla extract.
  5. GREAT plots!! Man you must have some fat & happy deer!! They're spoiled!!
  6. I wouldn't do this for anyone else, but if you REALLY need someone to help out thin the bear population out, I can help! Have gun, will travel!! ;-)
  7. AHHHH... Deer hunters porn!! Now that's what I like to see!! Dead coyotes!! LOL nycoyotehounds - I hope the date was just wrong in the bottom pic. Don't recall that much snow on 8/2/09!! LOL Nice job taking them out! How many do you usually get in a season?
  8. Oh stop it! LOL I'm sure big shots like you can just call it a day whenever you want!
  9. Between the rain recently and the forecast that I saw for next week (sunny & 60's), the winter wheat and rye should grow and green up well. I planted my mix of ww/wr/oats on Sept. 19th and I swear I can see more growth every 24hr's! I hope also it doesn't grow too tall and get stemmy, tough, and unpalatable by the time season rolls around.
  10. I know they claim it's fruitless to reduce the population much due to their reproduction habits (thin them out and they just make "extra" the following year), but I would really like to see the studies to back this up? I believe it's possible, I would just like to see what they base this on?
  11. Nice, huh? I get to set my own hours and love it! Sucks getting up so early, but it sure is convenient to get out when everyone else is just breaking for lunch! I get a lot done around camp and get to hunt afternoons when I want without burning vacation time.
  12. Yep, a load of that sure does perk up the corn!!
  13. Kind of funny to watch the Primos hunting show and even they don't use their own red/green blood tracker light when tracking at night!
  14. That reminds me, a couple of years ago I would download videos/shows onto my phone and watch them when things got real slow during the mid-day. Sure helped pass the time. I think texting helps pass the time also. My cousin in MD frequently texts me when he's bored on stand or as he's sitting in his stand waiting for daylight, AND also to rub it in that he's hunting and our season in NY still isn't open yet!
  15. A little OCD with your trimming? Absolutely!! "Clearcut" is my middlename!! LOL I can't help it! I start snipping off some branches, then the next thing you know, there's just a limbless tree or sapling there! Why keep it, that 'could' get in the way too.... hacker' down!! LOL
  16. They said on the news this morning that the east of Rochester got anywhere from 3-5" yesterday! From the forecast that I saw, they said that it's "suppose to be" sunny and in the 60's all next week. We'll see...
  17. AM by far for me. Really not a fair comparison though, as 75+% of my hunts are done in the morning.
  18. Morning hunts, I try to sit until ~10am. Afternoon hunts, I head back in ~3pm. I don't see many deer, which makes it REAL hard to stay on stand. Seems like the "most" I've seen on a bowhunt might be 4 or 5. If I see 1 deer, I consider it a good day. Might not seem like much, but ONE is better than NONE!
  19. My name is Cabin Fever and I'm a "Trim-oholic"... Yes, it's true. I am one of those, "If I don't trim this, the deer will probably come in this way, and I'll kick myself for not cutting this out of the way." I know I shouldn't, but I just can't help myself!
  20. I think I know where I would be come bear season! Looks like a great spot! I would LOVE to have some bear in my area!
  21. That was crazy! End it with the rain already!! I want a few days of sun now for the foodplots. Hoping they won't be waterlogged and die from flooding! There's still things that I wanted to finish up in the woods yet before this weekend. I went out last Monday in the pouring rain to do some trimming, just because I had a couple of hours free. Gotta do it when you can!
