Walmart has there archery items now in stock

The Webster store also barely has anything compared to other Walmarts! Pretty much stopped going there. -
It really depends on what kind of mood they're in. I've arrowed several deer (all bucks) that I called in with the buck grunt and doe bleat.
-
VERY nice bucks and video!!
-
Hope everything works out for you and you can be ready to go by hunting season!

Buddy just pulled my card from the other camera

Very nice! I would be happy with an 80 acre field of soybeans! Some have found that the deer don't hit them much when they start to turn yellow. When the farmer plants soybeans in the field across the road from my place, it seems like there are always deer in there after dark, fall and winter! In the winter, it looks like a mine field, with holes dug down through 2'+ of snow to get to any leftover beans. -
Not the BIG boys but some strange mutants

I commonly get pics of deer in the summer with the same looking blotchy coat. I don't know what is is or what causes it. Don't think it's anything to be concerned about though. -
Yeah, there's no way those yellow and red leaves are from a lack of water around here! Seems like it rains some every other day!

Thanks for the reminder! My $10 Dicks certificate expires in 3 days!

I've been wearing Realtree AP for the past couple of years. I like it and seems to work well for both hunting in treestands and on the ground.

Count me in!!

I get a lot of hunting supplies at Dicks, especially patrolling for newly marked down clearance items! I have one ~3 min from work, so I run over to check things out on lunch. -
Decoys are used a lot by guys on hunting shows on the Outdoor Channel. Seems to work pretty well in open fields where the deer can see the decoy from a long ways off. Sure helps bring them in. I get a kick out of watching the bucks come in posturing, hair standing on end, walking sideways, and glaring at the decoy like they are gonna open a can of whoop ass on it!

I've had luck with both the buck grunt and doe bleat. Of course they don't work all the time, but it's a nice tool to have. No rattling on the other hand, no luck what-so-ever!! :-\

Ahhhhhhh.... Sounds like a relexing weekend!

I was traveling on Rt. 104 today and couldn't help but notice some of the leaves are changing color! Woo-Hoo!! Hunting season is coming!!

Nice Surprise When I Checked Cams Today!
Cabin Fever replied to Cabin Fever's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Believe it or not, the GHR and DER seem to be growing just as well in the brushhogged area as it is out in the prepared plots! I didn't spray or anything, just thought what the hell, and broadcast it. I'll be very interested to see how the GHR and DER attract this season. I have to compete with surrounding corn fields and apple orchards. -

And to think I was happy just seeing his little 8pt buddy, until this one showed up! Almost fell out of my chair!! -
WOW!! I don't know where this guy came from, but I'm glad he's here! I brushhogged a strip, so I could plant some trees. While I was seeding my plots with Dwarf Essex Rape and Groundhog Radishes, I broadcasted some seed into this mowed strip also, just to see if they would grow in there on unprepared ground. I noticed a few deer tracks traveling through there, so I cut a hole in the brush to tuck my cam into, in hopes of getting some pics. Don't know if the DER & GHR are attracting them already or if it's the tender natural browse after mowing.

I use Bushnell Trophy cams. Reasonable price, great pics & video, very small, 8AA batteries that last for 3000-4000 pics, and a 2 year warranty. No complaints.

I got my Cannon gunsafe at Tractor Supply.
-
Nope. That's the time to spend with the muzzleloader! I sure wish we had a longer late season though!

So whats everyone been seen so far this year?
Cabin Fever replied to JCTheGC's topic in Deer Hunting
The only bucks that I've only gotten pics of are a nice 7pt and two small 4pts so far. Seems to be a few does around, that have anywhere from 1-3 fawns. I usually don't get many buck pics until Oct - Nov. The skeeters and deer flies are unbearable!! -
Very Nice! That'll always get the blood flowing!

Fields growing pretty good!

Things are coming along nicely! What did you plant? If that's rye or oats, when did you plant? -
I would be thrilled to have those bucks on my place!
