  1. He’s a beauty Don! Congrats!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Right at daylight, I saw a doe and fawn, then 2 little bucks. Just had a big doe browse by, all by herself. Nothing trailing yet... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Good God!! I might not be able to sleep tonight either!! Hoping you find him piled up after a short blood trail!
  4. Have fun with that! When we listed ours, it was shown 27x in 3 days! It's a sellers market! Bought our new house the day it hit the market and offered over listing price, just to ensure we would get it!
  5. I’ll have to, cause I suck at math! The math gene skipped a couple generations in my family! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Saw a 4pt, nose to the ground, zig zagging through a clearing at 8:40. Most excitement I’ve had so far. Ok, add another 4-6pt that just walked through... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Not a creature was stirring, not even a squirrel... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Several pics of small bucks chasing does last night. Saw them run by me at first light too. Still NO big bucks hitting scrapes or showing themselves during the day yet!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Another 4pt just came by, nose to the ground! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Happy Birthday! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. This 4pt is just terrorizing the doe and 2 fawns, running them all around me. I feel bad for them! Just not bad enough to burn my tag on him to get him to stop! LOL Entertaining anyways! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Have a 4pt grunting and running a doe and 2 fawns all around me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah, me too! I was a bit too eager to get out of the office and into the stand this afternoon! Got here at 1:00 and can’t wait until dark to leave! Just saw a beautiful red fox, but that’s been the high point so far. My back is killing me, as the tree leans forward a bit, so I can’t even sit up straight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. A whopping 4 squirrels since 1:00...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Dressed very light, but still sweating my ass off before I got to my stand. Hope I’m wrong, but I think this is going to be a looooong deerless sit this afternoon... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. WOW @Buckstopshere that's encouraging!! Still practically zero daylight activity from my cams in 8J. I saw my first buck harassing a doe this morning, right after daylight, but it was just a dinky 4pt. Mature bucks still aren't showing themselves any sooner than 1-2 hours of sunrise or sunset, still under the cover of darkness. Have pics of mature bucks running does at night though. Scrapes aren't even "hot" yet... just younger bucks hitting them so far. Wondering how much of an impact the 70 degree temps will have on day time rutting activity though...
  17. A little bit (4 acres) of woods. Trying to contact the adjoining landowner who owns 66 acres, to either get permission to hunt, lease or possibly buy his property. He lives out of state. I’ve already mailed him a letter, called his home 2 times and messaged him on LinkedIn, but I haven’t heard anything back. When I left messages, I just said I bought the property next to his and wanted to be neighborly and introduce myself and would like to speak to him. No luck yet.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Hunting until ~9:30, then heading to work for 3-4hrs, before getting back to the stand for the evening shift. Closing on my new house in Canandaigua in 4 weeks and need to save some vacation time for moving! Woo-hoo!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Had a doe and 2 fawns walk by at 12 yards. 5 min later, they came back by watching behind them and alert. A few min later a 4pt appeared hot on their trail! He was grunting and charging them. Cool only being 12 yards from them and having a front row seat! Had bad thoughts there for a minute, as those 2 would have made a welcomed addition to my freezer! But,............. 20. So I was in line earlier to get a couple leftover DMP’s. There was a Mennonite kid in front of me. He told the guy behind the counter he would, “Like another buck tag too”!! Scary how ignorant some hunters are about the regulations! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Back in for the evening sit. That wind is brutal! Coming across ~150 acre standing cornfield and smacking me directly in the face! Pissed off because I can’t find my bino’s! Had them over the weekend, but just can’t find them now. Ripped the truck apart, but no luck! UGH.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Not gonna lie, listening to the wind HOWLING out there is not very motivating! I caution my son about the safety of hunting in high winds, because I've had close calls with overhead limbs and even trees fall around me before and you can't move very fast or far strapped into a tree with a harness! I suppose to help justify, I will be walking in along a standing corn field and my stand is right along the edge of the corn and woods. I'm going in..............
  23. I got the Buddy heater as well to use in the pop up blinds. I originally bought the heater for the kids for when they were small and tagged along with me on hunts, but I still use it regularly during gun and muzzleloader season. It's the cat's ass in on those bitter cold days, as it sure helps me justify putting more time in the blind hunting! I even have a single burner on a bottle of propane in there for warming up a can of soup and coffee. OK, call me a puss...
  24. Congrats Rob! Made my day! Tough season last year, but you're making up for it this year! Nice buck and doe for the freezer already!
