  1. First blood for the new Hoyt! I was dying to break it in! I knew she wasn't going to go far, so I got on her trail soon. I really wanted to get her skinned before dark, so I wouldn't have to work by lanterns. I dragged her to the edge of the field and went back to unload some gear and get the truck. I was gone for 45 minutes (max) from the time I left her, until I returned. In that amount of time, a coyote or some other hungry critter started to tear into her already! Thankfully, it didn't get much, and only chewed a softball sized hole into her, right where the entry wound was.
  2. Just had a big old doe and two fawns pass by, but she just wouldn't give me a nice broadside shot! Also had a group of what looked like 6-8 Jakes cut in behind me. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  3. Welcome. There's several guys here that's from the Rochester area. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  4. 8J Seneca County Saw 4 small bucks this morning, between 7-11am. They weren't on a "mission" or anything, but on their feet during daylight hours anyways, so that's encouraging. I found 3 fresh scrapes in the past 3 days. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. Welcome. Do any bowhunting? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  6. Yep, 60 is a bit warm, but what are ya do? Back in the saddle! Plus, it just feels good to be in the stand. Before you know it, bow season will be over. #NOREGRETS!! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  7. Saw 4 small bucks this morning by 11am, all from 2 feet to 25 yards. Figures, I really hoped to shoot a doe today, but never saw any! Not sure where to go this evening... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  8. A lone fawn passed by 2 feet from my tree. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  9. Few too many drinks last night at a wedding reception, so not feeling 100%, but that's not stopping me from hunting this morning. It would definitely make for a rough drag if I scored this morning though....
  10. Checking in from a wedding reception (and slightly buzzed) to see what I'm missing... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  11. Nice video! Those are the kind of blood trails that I like too!
  12. Woo-hoo. Seemed to work that time! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  13. Trying to figure out why my pics get turned upside down when trying to post with Tapatalk? Let's see how it goes this time... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  14. So, to set this up... My son is 23 and lives and works an hour away, but often comes home on weekends. We typically do most of our hunting together, but he's been getting some big ole bucks on his trail cams, right behind his apartment, so decided to hunt more there. He's been hunting hard since season opened (rain, heat, wind didn't matter!). He's been getting frustrated by the lack of sightings and his trail cam pics have dropped off significantly in the past 2 weeks. I suggested that he pump the breaks a little, as to not get too frustrated or burned out, before the "fun" part starts. But, like father, like son it's easier said than done! He texted me this morning, in the rain, and I could tell he was really frustrated, but I tried to give him words of encouragement. Anyways, he texted me again ~10:30am and said that the woods just "exploded" with deer activity all around him! Two decent bucks (2 1/2 year olds) were chasing a couple does all around him, grunting, rubbing tree's, tearing up scrapes, and even bedded down for a while 30 yards from him! He sent me several pics of the bucks! He never shot, because he has his heart set on the bigger bucks that he has several pics of. Anyways, I thought the parents might get a laugh out of the text that he sent me and how proud that it makes a parent feel knowing that this passion all started, because of them! I'm sure we can all relate too! Just remember when you're frustrated, things can turn around at any minute! #ONEPROUDDAD!!!!!!
  15. Ok, I see that hasn't changed! LOL Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  16. Just a pic test. I remember trying this last year, but it kept posting the pics upside down. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  17. Checked all 9 cams at lunchtime. Only 4 deer on cam in the past week... Pathetic! But, on the positive side, the weather has been bad with 85-90 degree temps with rain and high winds on some days. Didn't expect to see much activity anyways. Its only 47 degrees now, so hopefully they'll be ready to strap on the ole feed bag and hit the cornfield tonight though. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  18. When I got to my stand, I saw that it was already occupied... by a squirrel! LOL It watched my fumbling around for my phone for a couple of minutes, then took off. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  19. Happy Birthday B!! I'm sure your boys will be excited for you to get home for some cake tonight! Have a good one! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  20. Holy Hell! LOL That was certainly more of a fight than I was expecting to see this early! I bet seeing that first hand got the blood pumping! Great video Bob!
