Dropping our youngest off to college on Friday, so we'll be joining the "Empty Nesters Club". Not gonna lie, I'm kinda looking forward to it! Get some alone time with momma, whenever the mood strikes, and not have to keep our ears open for someone unexpectedly coming home (and scarring them for life). I'm ready to start this next chapter of my life!

I just picked one up from Lowes today. They carried one brand, but two different models. One was $40 and the other was $70. I opted for the $70 one, as it was build much better and extended to 16'. Seems like I only get 3 years out of a pole saw, before something breaks beyond repair.

Always paranoid when I do my last mowing of the season this time of year! I've been attacked on too many occasions by those damn-ground-nesting-nasty-tempered-yellow-jackets! I was on the lookout today to see if I stirred any up while mowing, but only got stung once (in the head! OUCH!!). While I was doing some ducking and weaving under some overhanging branches, I passed within ~5' of this very active nest, but never noticed it until my next lap that would have been at head level if I didn't notice it! Talk about doing some back peddling!! You can see to the left of the nest, how close I came to it on my previous pass! I can't believe they didn't attack! I was man-handling that branch as I passed under it, trying to keep the branches out of my face.

My son hasn't received his yet. I received mine a week ago. We have the same address and same last name, but we always get them weeks apart! Some years he gets his weeks before I get mine, but other years, I get mine first. NY.... Go figure.

Mine just came today. My son's didn't arrive yet though.

Considering the guys that have a long drive or have to get up early on Monday, would it be better to meet earlier on Sunday? Early afternoon for a late lunch(/day drinkin' ) ? Just throwing it out there...

I just got back from San Antonio a couple weeks ago! Absolutely LOVED it! OK, the heat sucked (100-106 degrees with 70%+ humidity everyday), but other than that it was great!

Not sure how I missed this... Sign me up!
