    I stopped by camp the other night. Something caught my eye as I was pulling up to the cabin, so I stopped for a closer look. A buck has been rubbing on a sapling 25 yards from the cabin! LOL (The rub is on the backside of the sapling on the 2nd pic)

    Like others have said, it helps keep me in the stand longer, which is hard to do when you're not seeing anything. Just hearing that others are seeing activity is encouragement to stay in the stand. I also like to keep in touch with my son, especially when he's out hunting by himself on a mountain 1 1/2hrs away and no one else knows that he's out or where to find him if anything should happen. Have I ever been texting, looked up and saw a deer walking by? Sure. Would I never do it again? Yes. BUT, I've also had the same thing happen while eating a snack/lunch, closing my eyes for a few minutes, taking a leak, etc... It's just part of the hunt!

    Taking 1/2 vacation days this time of year works out very well for me! My stands are 15min from work. I can hunt from daylight until almost 10:00am, get to work by 10:30am, work 4hrs and head out at 2:30pm and be back in my stand ~3:00pm for an evening hunt! When the rut starts kicking in and I intend on hunting all day, then I'll start taking whole vacation days. Helps me extend my vacation and I can stay caught up at the office.

    Wow, what a beautiful morning! 38 degrees and just a slight breeze. Should be able to hear something coming in, before they just "magically" appear. Hunting a stand that I haven't hunted during a morning sit for about a week. Noticed 2 huge scrapes that have recently been opened up. Rest up and get to feeling better TF! If you need to sit on the bench for a few days to recover, nows the time to do it. After this week, it should be balls to the wall! LOL Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Wow! That's a great idea! If something like that isn't on the market, it should be! The older (and fatter) I get, the more of a pain in the ass it is lugging ladder stands around. I bought a deer cart this year and hauled my ladder stands in with that. Much easier!

    I'll probably pull the plug about 10am. I've only seen a 4pt on the move all morning. I never see much, if any, activity on real windy days. The wind is suppose to die down by tomorrow morning.     Had a great morning in the stand, but the evening was pretty slow. Thankful for the 2 button bucks that kept me entertained while they munched on acorns 15 yards away.

    I hate this wind... I've had 4 singles go by me this morning. I'm not 100% sure if it was the same deer or different? 1 unknown, 2 button bucks, and another that I could just see that didn't have any head gear. Had a hen fly down about 15 yards from me (note to self to change underwear on lunch)! Also, had 4 gobblers pass by. Plan on hunting until 10 or so, then go to take a couple shots out of the guns, then hit the stand later for an evening hunt. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Just had one pass by at 20 yards., but it was just a little to dark to tell what it was. Head to the ground and never stopped walking. Guessing it was a small buck, as I think I would have been able to see if it was a shooter. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
