  1. Oh yeah! I have the Mr, Heater Portable Buddy Heater that I use. I also have a propane single burner that I've been known to fire up to warm up some soup and coffee. I just open a can of soup and set it on the burner and eat from the can (with gloves on of course). I also keep a metal camping cup in the blind to set on the burner to pour coffee into to warm up. NICE!
  2. Maybe that coyote is trying a little "cover scent", so he can sneak up on deer a little easier?
  3. Haven't heard of any pigs running around down there!? Wild boar kind of pigs or as in someone's critters got out? LOL Been seeing much deer activity?
  4. I've had coyotes and fox rolling in my mock scrapes, made with my own "scent".
  5. Definitely gonna look for this the next time I make a run!
  6. I'm not picky and it depends on how much $ I have to spare at the time. The last couple of bottles that I bought have been Canadian Club. Pretty smooth and gets the job done... I like whiskey over ice or with come coke.
  7. This is the first year that I haven't grunted in at least a couple of bucks by now! That's typically how I get my bow kills. I haven't had one respond yet this year. I had a huge 11pt at 75 yards a couple of evenings ago. I grunted at varying degrees of aggressiveness to get him to come in to kick some ass, but he wasn't the least bit interested! He stopped to look a couple of times, so I know he heard me, but he could care less. It wasn't like he was nose to the ground or anything, and he even crossed the path of 4 does and didn't go after them either. He just seemed like he was going from point "A" (bedding) to point "B" (feeding).
  8. Hey Chris! Hope you guys have some good hunting! Let me know how you make out! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  9. Amazing and perplexing how conditions and timing seem perfect, yet the deer just don't move! Things that make you go "hhhmmmm?" (Or say WTF?) Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  10. No deer yet.. Time to break out the coffee! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  11. Beautiful still morning! Finally had a promising hunt last night, so I hope rut activity is finally picking up! Good luck everyone. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  12. One really odd thing that I saw on the evening hunt was watching a fawn nurse. I assumed momma wasn't gonna go for it, but she stood right there and let the fawn nurse for 1-2min! It was an average sized fawn too. First time I've ever seen that in November!
  13. Yeah, he's an 11pt. This was him in velvet, but shows how wide he is. Great buck!
  14. Saw my #1 tonight! He was ~125 yards away walking the edge of a cut cornfield, heading directly towards me! Heart was thumping!! As he got closer, I guess he got lazy and decided to cut across the corner of the cornfield. I tried grunting a few times, but he only stopped to look and kept on walking. Damn it!! I ranged him at 75 yards, the closest he came to me.
  15. Temps dropping! Didn't dress for this! I either need another layer or to see a deer to warm up! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  16. Oh that silly weatherman saying rain ending at 7am. Its 10:15 and been pouring all F'n morning!!! Doesn't look like it's even thinking about letting up anytime soon either! I hate getting all my stuff wet. Back home to dry out..... AGAIN.... Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  17. Nothing moving, but rain! Thinking about leaving a note to let the deer know that they're suppose to be rutting now. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  18. Yesterday morning SUCKED sitting out in that pouring rain and never seeing a thing. Sitting here listening to the rain this morning, I'm not digging the idea of going back out in it and getting everything soaked again... UGH!! If weather underground is correct, it's suppose to stop between 7-8am though.
  19. I wonder if he's walking by my stands trying to find me too and we just keep missing each other? LOL
  20. That's the problem having 10ish stands. It's a crap shoot! Need to put someone in every stand one of these days and surprise those bucks!
  21. Yeah, wrong stand again. When this guy was 15 yards from one stand, I was having a stare down with a little 3pt at another stand... Pretty cool seeing him work my mock scrape though! Looks like he has a scar in front of his hind quarter.
  22. Congrats on a dandy buck! First one with a bow too! NICE!!
  23. I tapped out at 9:00. It would pour, then ease up like it was going to stop, then pour like hell again a few minutes later. Never went more than 5 min all morning with a break in showers. No way I would have felt comfortable shooting one or blood trailing with these downpours.... Screw it. I'll go dry out, get a hot meal, then get back at it this afternoon. 24. Put 9 1/2 hours on stand today. Never saw a deer.......................................
