  1. YES!!!! Congrats TF and Princess TF!! You made my day!! She's certainly put in her time! Nice buck!! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  2. Haven't even seen a squirrel yet. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  3. Well, I guess since I ate my lunch before it even got daylight, I may as well head out and get a quick hot lunch! Yum! My son and daughter will be heading over to camp this afternoon, to get in an evening hunt here. Hoping the deer will be moving a hell of a lot better then they have been this morning! Not holding my breath though... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  4. The same lone fawn has wandered by me 3x from 7-10am. Nice to actually see a live deer! They DO exist!! LOL I feel a bit relieved... My son has been hunting by his apartment and just shot a good buck this morning! Takes some of the pressure off of me to get venison in the freezer this year! I'll try to post a pic, but it seems like whenever I do, they post upside down! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. I'm right there with ya Grow! LOL This is my 5th time out since gun season opened and I just saw my first deer, a lone fawn! Pretty pathetic! LOL Including bow season, this is hunt #64. I'm just about out of gas (physically and mentally). I think it's getting old for my wife too, with me not being at home much. Not sure how many more hunts I have left in me, but I'm gonna start pumping the breaks a bit. I thought hunting was suppose to be fun? LOL Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  6. I don't often hunt the tower stand, opting to reserve it (and any local deer) for my kids. Not gonna lie, it's pretty cozy, especially on a cold rainy day like today! Maybe a little too cozy! Already polished off my lunch and a "mega" bag of jerky, all before daylight! LOL Still working on my thermos of coffee! Thinking about firing up the heater and kicking my boots off later! 7. Raining pretty good in 8F. Suppose to stop ~10am. Opted for the tower stand. Tired of getting everything wet, drying, and slopping through deep water and mud to get to my stands. Why can't a nice buck just step out and take one for the team??? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  8. Having another cup of coffee and trying to decide which stand to go to this morning. Only have until Sunday to hunt, then heading to Atlanta for the week.
  9. Is Shiva gonna be a walker now? Not gonna lie, that would be kinda cool!
  10. Couldn't agree more. I miss the earlier seasons, when it was just small groups defending themselves against zombies. Now, it's evolved into different groups/societies battling it out. Then again, I guess that's how things would progress (You know, like during a REAL zombie apocalypse ) as individual or small groups of survivors would find each other and join forces to fight for supplies. I'm definitely not as excited to watch it, but not ready to tap out either...
  11. Man, it's been a long boring day... Nothing but squirrels. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  12. Up to 3 squirrels now... Wohoo. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  13. Nothing but rain here in 8F... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  14. Sending some positive mojo your way TF and Miss TF!! Hoping for some hero pics tomorrow with well deserved smiles! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  15. They sell rubber coverings that allow you to shower without getting casts wet! I used them when I had my foot and ankle surgery.
  16. I'll be using a Remington Model 700 BDL in 300 Win Mag. Why? Because it was my Dad's baby and I want to show it some love... I've used it every year since he passed.
  17. Really foggy here this morning! Weird! 30 degrees and frosty too. Unfortunately, that didn't stop me from sweating my ass off on the way to the stand though... Glad the wind direction is good for this stand! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  18. Heading out for more abuse after I finish my coffee... Hunt #57. I didn't set the bar too high this year, just wanted a decent mature buck. I've only passed up 3 yearling bucks this season. My worst season ever as far as deer sightings overall. Not gonna lie, any buck might be in danger today! LOL Tomorrow is looking like a washout, so I might go into work and play catch-up, as I've been on vacation for the past 3 weeks. Still have Friday to hunt also... Trying to finish the season strong.
  19. Congrats! And hope you have many more to come! Bowhunting is very addictive! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  20. It is freekin DEAD out here. The squirrels aren't even active. I have a thicket to my right and a thicket on my left, with a narrow 50 yard wide strip of woods dividing. I'm right in between the thickets. If there was any chasing or carrying on, I would hear it. Thought I might see a buck cruzin through scent checking the thickets... 21. I've been in the stand for almost 10hrs today. Saw 1 deer at 8:20 am. I'm at a loss... Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  22. Saw a shooter at 8:20, just out of range. I laid a scent trail using fresh doe in estrus urine (picked up from a local deer farm) on his trail, so I thought for sure he would come in on a string! He sniffed it a couple of times, looked around, and casually chose the other path at the intersection to walk down! I tried a couple of doe bleats and buck grunts, but he could care less!! Other than a few scrapes, I haven't seen ANY sign of the rut! No seeking, no chasing, no responding to grunts, little activity, no nothing! WTF!! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  23. Good God! Now that's some serious motivation! Good luck!
  24. Hey, you found my spot!?!? Sat for 4hrs this morning and 3hrs this evening, without seeing a deer. In between hunts, my son and I hung a new stand. With the snow cover the past couple of days, he's been able to see a little farther. He saw good bucks entering a thicket ~80 yards to his right, the past 2 mornings. Decided to throw a stand up to cover those trails. He had to head back to work, so I'll be keeping that stand warm for him this week!
