Bringing the doe decoy out tomorrow evening, gonna try to pull a buck outa the woods. 2.5 year old 8pts or better are in danger with 1 week left.

I got a doe decoy at dicks for $55 after rebate last week, used it twice, have had a 4 pt and a small 8 pt come right to it.

Saw the biggest deer i've ever seen in person in my life this evening driving to work. dogging a doe in a field right before dark.

I don’t even have a single pic of the buck I shot, but these bucks are moving all day in the heat at the bottom of a N facing slope. laptop is acting up and won’t upload so I had to take pictures of pictures.

When I refer to shooting a deer above or below the spine I guess I’m referring to the spinal cord, the vertebrae hits are non fatal.

Agree, the fins are not the spine IMO, and there’s plenty of space above the spine you can hit, the more forward you shot the more space.

Make a move, north facing slopes the sun takes longer to hit is where I’m seeing everything.

My 8 point i shot sat, I could smell as I was tracking the blood, and his carcass was downwind. Every leaf he ran over stunk.

I can’t get back out till Friday, I’ve been hunting pretty hard and am gonna get the house completely ready for winter this week. Good luck to everyone.

Even though I was in PA I’ll post. Rattled at 6:45 this am, had a 4pt chase and grunt at a doe 40 yards behind me and bed down. I turned around and an 8 point was coming right towards them, send a bolt through his liver and lung and watch him run off crashing into trees. I backed out to be safe as I thought it was back. Only went 100. Blood everywhere and died fast. While tracking kicked a 6 and doe up, another buck and doe chasing in front of cabin while I was waiting. Crazy morning. 17” inside. With the heat this is the first time in 10 years and only the second deer I’m having processed at a butcher!

Yes, it looked ok, but was burried under leaves. I had decent blood to the tree he ran into and backed out

All blood no guts, just had anothe buck and doe run by. Still backing out

I can see hair, can’t see my bolt from the stand. Woods are on fire this morning bucks grunting and running does everywhere.
