  1. Start looking in between your couch cushions for spare change, expand your budget and go for a Benelli. Your wont regret it. If you want to stay in the price range range consider the rem 870, nice oldie but goodie and priced right
  2. lurking my land is pretty hilly as well, thanks for the input
  3. good point Elmo doubt mine would stay put for too long also lol verminater, that reminds me of one year I took my 16yr old daughter to observe a turkey hunt but not before she made me purchase her some very fashionable camo, she made me pass up several fall season birds as they "looked happy", then again this is the same girl who when she was 6 named all the earthworms in my container of bait then said now that they have names I had to release them
  4. will have to try it out this season if she ends up taking the course and I can get her out of bed by 4am, other option is maybe take her out as an observer at some point
  5. Anyone hear hunt with their spouse???? My wife recently mentioned she would like to take the safety course and try it out. I used to consider the season to be sacred time of hanging with the fellas, breaking bread, cracking a beer open and sharing stories. I guess it would be nice to have someone to keep warm with in the blind with.
  6. 1-2, not a huge red meat fan but venison is nice on occasion, with that said whenever I harvest one the meat doesn't stay in the freezer long due to request from friends or dividing with hunting party
  7. thanks everyone, some good points I did not consider
  8. That sucks, hope karma works on the dirtbag. A few years ago I had some land and had 4 cams set up. Three were of decent quality and one was a clearance priced Stealthcam which cost me about 25 bucks. As I was arriving into my property at an unusual time I saw a car pulling out of a shared road. Since I had issues with trespassers previously I decided to follow the car alittle and obtain plate info. The dude sped off and I knew at that time he likely had been on my land and stolen the cameras. I kept up long enough to get a description and plate numbers but did not follow any further as the sleezeball was doing like 90 down a busy road just to get away. When I returned to my land I found the lock clipped on the cheap trail cam and gone but the others were untouched (dumba** probably spent more on gas to get there than the cam was worth). I visited the local state police station to make a complaint. They informed me the car I described had been pulled over and ticketed earlier(again spent more on the ticket than the cam was worth), that it was unlikely they would be able to retrieve the cam (which I could care less about) but they would pay him a visit and scare him alittle. Looking back I probably should have contacted an ECO office instead since my gripe was more with the trespassing issue.
  9. Was leaning towards a tractor as well, next question I guess is any specific tractor recommended? Do any come with an automatic transmission? What should I be looking for in a machine? I apologize for the basic questions but I don't know much about them
  10. I own 170 recreational acres of land. I have been tossing the idea of purchasing a UTV with intents of buying a few attachments to maintain trails, up keep food plots etc. The other option I considered was investing in a compact tractor instead. The tractor would also allow me to eventually develop and expand the trail system. Any thoughts?????
  11. Or grow a pair and say if you did or didn't. Typical Internet.
  12. You just made my point for me. Thanks
  13. Typical of social media and clickiness. I recall reading a recent post on this very same forum about carrying a firearm while bow hunting. Some of the same attackers on this post who are justifying their attack on the OP by mentioning the legality of feeding wildlife eluded to the fact they carry during archery season. Illegal is illegal.
  14. Posting this for a friend: he has 6g available to swap for 6c

Great, glad to chat with someone that knows the local area, I am just beginning to know the region myself, beautiful country, the 2hr ride is well worth it every time I visit my farm, was there 2 weeks ago scouting and practicing my archery skills, had an accident with a crossbow and almost lost a finger 2 weeks ago, typing with one hand at the moment, would you happen to know anyone local familiar with QDM etc? as I am hoping to learn and develop my oasis
