  1. 4 point action this morning. And some neighbors marching along the property line. Otherwise nothing to write home about. In for coffee now
  2. Storm blew in a while ago and the lights went out, literally. I had 4 doe pass by at 15 yards, coming from a crossing area over a small creek. I know this spot is used by the Big 10 , hence my stand position. It is where I got the cam pics a couple of nights ago. I was hoping he would come sniffing after the doe a few minutes after they passed by, but someone hit the light switch and I had to make a hasty retreat home as the winds started to gale. Anyway, that was doe sighted both morning and evening from the same stand. It can only be a matter of time before a buck decides to check out the ladies. They are coming in for a night time acorn snack.
  3. Just not seeing many this year. The numbers don't justify it. We had a hard winter at our elevation. Lots of young bucks seen, hardly any doe. Previous seasons have seen gangs of them 8 or 9 in number wandering around. Definite decline in my area.
  4. I've been hunting Big boy for 3 seasons now, since he was a wee 8 pointer. Back in for coffee though. Saw some doe this mornin, not on the menu this season however. Gotta work for a few hours and then back out for the evening sit.
  5. Where abouts in 9H? I was practicing my Buck Roars this am.
  6. Here we go, D-Day today. (Deer Down Day). Let's make it happen!
  7. I fashioned a sack out of some netting material I found, filled it with aromatic walnut fruits I have been collecting. I have 'em tied up, about 10 feet off the ground in the area of acorns pictured above. Just put the bag up this afternoon. Be interesting to see if it brings anything in out of curiosity.
  8. I got the big guy on cam last night in the acorns. I am not going near the woods again till we get a run of colder weather. Even checking cams had me sweating like a hog today.
  9. It's funny how you always have to pay more to get a job done properly. Why just the other day I stumped up 200 dollars at the vets, only to be told that it would cost me another 150+ for an x-ray to determine what the problem might be. That was some expensive information right there. What the 200 was for, I am still at a loss.We left none the wiser.
  10. Oh yeah, been there. You either go straight to another spot as a result of the bad ju ju, or you simply turn around and put the coffee back on.
  11. Yep, and this includes camera action. I have nothin on camera, or in the woods for 4+ days. No fresh hoof prints, nothin. Is there some subterranean secret feeding center run by the DEC that they unlock this time of year? After this evening I am taking a week off the woods. Give everything a break scent-wise, and get my energies back.
  12. Had a lazy Sunday last week. Approached my stand at 8 and had 2 Bucks munching acorns by it. They saw me and bolted. Not gonna make the same mistake today, despite having a little too much wine last night
  13. The resolution was low, so not much information there in terms of pixels to play with. If he had just been a little closer to cam:
  14. In for coffee. Deader than a nail out there this morning. Even the squirrels and munks where subdued in their activities. Everything was so perfect! To be fair, I did have something mooching around my stand in the dark, but that is no good to me. I need sun glinting off bone baby!! Hopefully the evening sit will be better.
