Damn this working for a living business! Gorgeous morning, no deer sadly despite the near perfect conditions. Off to work now but heading to the Adirondacks tomorrow for weekend deer-camp! Picked up a new deer on camera, a 7. Not a shooter but they are beginning to move in from elsewhere it seems

Managed to get up in order to see how a quick morning sit goes before work. Heading to the new stand I sat last night in 10

My homebrew acorn cover scent has been working well it seems. 4 deer at 10 yards this evening. Not a peep from them. Will cost you a bottle of distilled water

Well....that was interesting. I sat till dark in the stand I just moved this morning. It takes advantage of 3 scrapes, some Oak trees and a bunch of new and large fresh rubs I found after my morning sit. At first things looked like a washout in the making. The wind was crappy and I almost quit coming up for 5pm. Then things calmed down and by 5:20 I was getting covered up in small Bucks. Mr 2 pointer turned up, I got a good look. He has lost one side all the way to the root. He may never have that side back. We'll see if he turns up in future seasons. He rendezvoused with another small guy and then they left. 15 minutes later another 4 pointer came by, all this in legal light. They all passed me at 10 yards, stayed to eat acorns, pee, and then moved on with no inkling I was there. I picked a good spot. I stayed till well after sunset, to see if the deer responsible for the larger rubs turned up. He didn't. But I did see my first Yote from the stand. He came tearing past, chasing after a fox. I don't think he got it. I heard him come back minutes later panting. I considered a shot but he was too far and the light was fading fast. As I was packing up a doe came through, peed in the the same spot as they others. I waited for her to munch some acorns and then hopped down. I think this spot has promise and is well worth a morning sit if I can do it tomorrow

Morning started off swell. Light breeze and sunny. Just before legal light my 2 pointer (former 4 pointer) came by and into the neighbors. 40 minutes later he was chasing the ladies around the neighbors but never brought 'em my way. At 9 the smallest 2 spike Buck I have ever seen came right past, 5 yards. He winded me when he got downwind but doubled back and came right in front of me again. After this the winds whipped up and I sat till 10:45. I decided to take a detour on the way back in for eggs and coffee. I found a series of fresh scrapes and a bunch of new, good sized rubs along a trail I have not hunted for several years. I decided to move a stand closer to the an enormous scrape that looks to be getting some frequent use in this area. After eggs and coffee I am going to sit till dark and hope to see who has been tearing up this corner of woods. Might be a half decent 8 I have on camera from weeks ago. Hopefully its something bigger tho. I am off to Adirondack camp this weekend so I may not have many more Bow opportunities after today. Today is the day

Had my most action packed sit this morning. I was in 2 minds when the alarm went off and I dragged my azz about the house till 30 minutes before legal light. I was not expecting much based on the temps, but also knew this week was when things typically ramp up. I chose a stand I never sit because it is very close to the house and to the road by our house. It gets noisy, which can actually be good sound cover but I like to hear the crunchy steps of deer myself. This stand has had a scrape come up behind it the last 3 seasons and I got some video of a couple of beasts last year after bow ended, scent marking the branches of a beech tree 15 yards from the stand. So, about 8 am the local 4 pointer, current king of the woods, comes past at about 40 yards. He is now a 2 pointer, having lost half his head gear already. I enjoyed the spectacle and he wandered off after 10 minutes. About 5 minutes later 3 or 4 doe come tearing through the woods and run right past me. Mr 2 pointer comes in right after, grunting and panting and generally putting on a great show. One of the doe peels off and comes up right behind me to the scrape. She eventually beds down to catch her breath. She wheezed a couple of times, I did not want to blow the stand, even for a doe, so I was immobile as possible and did not look behind. I think she actually had a cold, because when I eventually looked back she was resting about 10 yards behind me. Eventually she got up, walked right under me, sniffed the ladder and started to munch on ferns. I had used my home-brew acorn cover scent this morning. Seemed to work well. I was tempted briefly to test my Schwackers for the first time, but although Doe numbers are up a little, they are still way down from before the 2 bad winters we had. I had her in range for 20 minutes. Lucky gal. Also, no better Buck bait then a live doe under the stand. She too eventually wandered off and I got down to get ready for work. There are new scrapes and aggressive rub zones all over now. I think I will do an all day sit this coming Wednesday. Might sit the neighbors this evening and see if I can connect with the 3 year old I have on cam there. This rub is part of a series not too far from the stand. Wonder if Mr 2 pointer did this or something bigger. I put a cam over the area

Weight lifting and back exercises today. Gonna take it easy until the weather changes or cameras give some indication of daytime movement . I might do 1 hour over one of the new scrapes this evening. The stand is close to the house. I never use it in favor of others but there is an annual scrape by it and last year I got some nice pics over it.

Report: Mandalay Bay Security Guard at Center of Las Vegas Attack Timeline Has Disappeared http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/10/16/mandalay-bay-security-guard-center-changing-timeline-disappeared/ -
People underestimate the effect of cold on muscle efficiency. I was under-dressed on the opener, and I had a little difficulty when attempting some practice draws. I have no issues in general in terms of age or strength. I work out lightly but regularly and am in OK shape. That morning was all about the cold.

A short sit this mornin. Picked a stand that is generally not great in the mornings, just to shake things up. Didn't see anything. Lesson learned. I did find my first scrape of the season and a well used bedding area. Gonna rush out after coffee, set a camera over it and check another before work

Well, I had a little action on my neighbors property this evening. I rattled in a couple of deer. One was a Doe, who was alert and knew something was going on. The other, given her behavior, was a Buck I suspect, but given how thick the locale was I never got a look at it. The Doe was right under me, but behind in the thick stuff. I literally couldn't move for 15 minutes, hoping she would enter the clearing in front of me and bring the boy along. No such luck. They slipped back into the dense swamp area. Neighbors dog was running wild too which probably didn't help.

In for post hunt coffee now. Deer were definitely moving today. I was not settled in 10 minutes when I got covered up in Doe n fawns. I watched em for a half hour before they disappeared into the neighbors clear cut area where all the Big Boys hang out. Had 2 small Bucks come out also. I was changing stands at 10 when I passed one coming up hill as I was heading down to get closer to the thickets. He was at 45 yards. I had to keep trees between us as we passed so as not to alert him. Nice to see 'em on the hoof, but no big un's yet.
