My class I took this weekend for utah permit said no hollow in NJ they didn't mention SWCs though so they may be allowable but let me do a quick search and I will edit and post the link http://www.njsp.org/firearms/transport-hollowpoint.shtml Honestly, your best bet would be to call the NJ state police pistol permit division and ask for clarification as to what exactly you ARE allowed to posess.
