looking to buy a turkey vest this year. which ones do you guys use???

I got the comfort zone speed blind from dicks this year for $75. only used it once so far but I loved it. literally sets up in seconds and is really roomy. my dad and I sat in it with 2 big camping chairs with plenty of room to spare, and we're both big guys. I think this is the best bang for your buck when it comes to pop up blinds!!!

haven't really had a bad season yet but this year was my best so far. shot a small doe opening day with the bow, a nice 8 pt with the gun and watched my girlfriend shoot her first deer. a 135lb field dressed doe. got plenty of meat in the freezer and a will have a head on the wall in a few months. saw a ton of turkeys too so spring time should be just as good. hopefully the girlfriend will get her first gobbler this year. best year yet!!!

Was wondering if anyone hunts state land in Albany or Rensselaer County and have any luck. My dad used to hunt partridge run years ago but I was thinking about trying the Louis Kier WMA or Black Creek Marsh. Also might try Grafton, Cherry Plain or the Capital District WMA. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I watched my gf shoot her first deer this year. a big doe, 135lbs field dressed. 20yd shot with the bow.hopefully she'll pop a big gobbler this spring. so glad she finally got into hunting. she loves it so much that she's going to school for wildlife management. she wants to work for DEC someday. its nice having a gf who will sit in the cold woods with you all day and isn't afraid to shoot, gut, and butcher deer or any other type of game. wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!!!

I have the victorinox boning knife, really sharp at first but got dull pretty quick. could be my own fault for not hitting it with the steel enough. still think its a good knife for the price, just gotta take care of it better than I did

So opening day is over. What happened out there?

Took a doe at 7:30am opening morning! Walked right underneath my stand, shot her right through the spine and dropped her in her tracks. Glad I got meat in the freezer but I'm not sure if this is a great start to a great season or if I just blew my load in the first half hour of the season. Only time will tell -
Anyone know of any decent taxidermist in the Albany area? I know there are a lot around but most of them don't have websites and it would be nice to find one for a decent price.
